Stanley Johnson minutes
How many minutes does you expect him to get in his rookie season Morris might get 30 so that leave Stanley with 18 but Morris might play some minutes at pf

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
I think he will play bench minutes in the begining, but its really up to johnson. If he comes out plays hard on both sides and is noticeably better than morris,I could see him over taking that role with in a month. If he does get the starting job,I dont think stan will play him alot ,unless its apparent that were going to make the playoffs and need to push.He will get whatever is left over from morris and that depends on how morris plays, but I see him only avg about 24-28 minutes as a starter in the begining and stan will up it after a couple more months depending.

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
He gonna play 36 min per game and average 25-5-8 on 48 fg% and 37 3pt% while leading us to the Finals. We then go 7 games with the Spurs. He puts up 30-8-8 and wins ROY, MVP, and Finals MVP.
Spoiler:
Championships

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
I have actually changed my tune, after having some discussions with my brother, and thinking about this.
I was thinking Johnson was going to average around 15-20mpg.
Nope.
28-35mpg. Why?
This is what I'm thinking is going to happen alot this year.
Reggie

marcus
erson

First substitution is going to be stanley, when. Erson sits, sliding Marcus to the 4. Marcus absolutely has a PF body, so that's no problem, and it allows for easy subs afterwards, with little dropoff. This is how we essentially have, "six" starters.
Johnson will be in the race for ROY, and his averages may be alot higher then we think.

Forward minutes are the hardest to predict on the team IMO.
Ersan needs to be "on" defensively to log 30 minutes. Due to match ups and health concerns I'd be inclined to keep him around 28 per to maximize his abilities.
Tolliver probably shouldn't log more than 18 minutes regardless. We all love him but if we play him much more than that it effects his output.
Morris is probably tougher to predict since he could go either way. Best case scenario is he comes in looking to make a statement, works hard, excels and gets 30 minutes. Worst case scenario he sulks or doesn't adjust well and is closer to 20 minutes.
Throw in some minutes for Baynes at PF, KCP at SF...
SJ is likely locked in for 20 minutes right away with a massive chance to increase that.

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
He's going to earn his minutes. He might only play 5-10 minutes over the first handful of games. If SVG likes what he sees, he'll give him more.

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
It will increase as the season goes on. He'll probably be solid but not great in pre-season as he adjusts to playing against a near-full team of actual NBA players and get 10-15 mins from the get go. I see that getting up to 25-28 as we get closer to the ASG. Primarily at the 3 but also some time at the 2, and 4 against small ball.

Probably more than 5-10, because we don't have any other 3s besides Morris, and he's not playing 38-43 minutes. Bullock may not make the team. Unless we're gonna do a lot of Jackson/Meeks/KCP/Ersan/Drummond, I think Stanley will start out at about 17-19 mpg.

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
Personally, I don't see Baynes getting any minutes at PF. I see him as strictly a C, especially considering SVGs system.
I can see both Morris and Johnson okay some PF minutes depending on matchups...
I see Johnson averaging 23 minutes per this season. Maybe 18-23 early, then playing gradually more later in the season.

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
I was thinking 20-25, but 18-23 sounds about right. At least to start, I fully expect him to earn more time as the season progresses.

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
I'm gonna jump the gun and say we got the biggest steal since Dwayne wade. He is gonna play around 28-32 min. 14.5 pts, 5.5Rg, 1.3 st,3 ast. .475 f2f pct. Honorable mention in defensive team votes, and most talked about rookie. Morris becomes more the backup 4, KCP plays about 12 min at sf. to open up minutes for Meeks and JEnnings. We break through deep this year and are the new young elite team in the East.

We'll have to see how the final roster shakes out. SVG has historically made his rookies earn their minutes.

I love this lol ^^^^
My predictions;
A.D-30 Baynes-18
Ilyasova-24 Tolliver-12 Morris-12
Morris-12 S.J-24 KCP-12
KCP-18 Meeks-18 B.J-12
Jackson-36 B.J-12
44 wins 38 losses
We make some noise in the playoffs and possibly get to East finals

I predict Stanley out playing kcp and morris right away in training camp and preseason which will lead to him starting opening day. The real question is what position will he play. I think he'd be best as shooting guard

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
Well now that you have said "it", your going to have to explain why you feel the third heaviest player on our team (6'7 245lbs same weight as Tiago splitter for context) and our only backup sf, should play SG.StunnaStan wrote:I predict Stanley out playing kcp and morris right away in training camp and preseason which will lead to him starting opening day. Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
Yeah, that's the one thing I know isn't going to happen -- Stanimal isn't going to start at SG.
There may be the occasional rare lineup in which he's at the two (particularly if Morris plays well and one of KCP or Meeks is hurt), but we have all kinds of depth at the 2 (Reggie with Jennings at point, KCP, Meeks, Bullock, and more) and almost no depth at the 3. It's very likely we're cutting 2 (and maybe even 3) SF's after camp (Granger, Martin, Thomas are all candidates), leaving only Stan, Morris (who may play some 4), and the larger 2's to play SF.

Re: Stanley Johnson minutes
15-25mpg for 1st half of season and 25-30mpg the 2nd half of season. Season totals will average 20-25 which may be misleading come playoff time. It all depends on how strong Morris plays throughout the season as well. I think Morris may surprise and be solid on this team. He may not be as good as Stanley's potential, but his experience will keep him in games longer and in the clutch.
