How much if we sign Drummond to his extension now?
How much if we wait till next summer?

I'm pretty sure I read that if AD's extension isn't signed until after next summer's FA period, the Pistons would have about 13 million they could use to sign other players, since Drummond's cap hold won't be as much as his actual extension.

I couldn't find an updated breakdown of Detroit's current cap situation. But, the cap is currently being projected at $89 million for next summer. From what I read from Keith Langlois, Detroit would have something like $10-15 million if Andre held off signing an extension until after we used our cap space (which would include his cap hold, of course).

Andre's cap hold next summer would be $8,180,228, so we would save about $14,069,772 in cap space next offseason by holding off on his extension, assuming he makes the 25% max and the salary cap next offseason is $89 million.
here's where i got dre's cap hit number:

I remember reading that too. I wonder if that's $13 million more in space or just $13 million total.
Would be nice to lock him up but nice to get another player in here too to help us
