Immediately... Seems like a perfect fit in SVG system. What say you?

Very strange a rebuilding team like the Nuggets didnt give this guy a chance. Anyway i doubt he is a better prospect than Bullock. Pistons have 18 contracts already no point in adding another guy who shot 35% FG and 30% threes last year, but nice passing skills.

I would love for the Pistons to pick up Papanikolaou, but I doubt it happens and it is mostly one of those guys I destroy with in 2k drafts with my boys as like a 12th pick.

Detroit doesn't have the cap space to claim Kostas' contract off waivers.

I'd love to get KPop since he's definitely a decent prospect that produced OK on a playoff team before injuries. But yeah, as others harped, we don't have space at all both financially and roster.

Maybe after we make the playoffs this year, have a good record, and everyone can see we are good, this digging thru other teams castaways obsession will end.
"Need"? Really?

Yes, need, as of today he is better than any of your forwards not called Ilyasova, and I'd say he is not far to Ersan's level.
Papanikolau is really good, even if he is not a shooter.
If the Pistons can they should totally sign him.

Okay, here's the thing. I checked the kid out on his stats. Now instead of saying "your insane his stats tell a different story" I'll let you tell me why you would make such an outlandish claim when both ilyasova, and tolliver are clearly, statistically better.
It's not even close either.
Your up. Go to town.

Listen, stats are meaningless if you dont read into them, Papanikolau was playing at a high level until he got injured and then the Rockets acquired Brewer, so his playing time dropped, he is not a flashy guy or a guy whos stats will shine, but he is a glue guy that is competitive and will make any team better, ultimate team player, great passer, has size to play both forward spots, plays hard, defensive minded, good rebounder and even though he is not a shooter he has room for improvement, he scored 42% in Euroleague, he was a rookie last year.
He is pretty good, I think much better than giving credit for and there are a ton of teams that could use him if in fact Denver cuts him.
He not only fits Van Gundy, he also fits a major need in this team, a smart player, for all the good they are, most of your talented rotation players are quite dumb, or inexperienced, a guy like Kostas will improve that right away.
Sincerely I hope he ends up in Atlanta, he will end up been a starter there, and their style of play suits him like a glove.

I'd like to see it, but apparently we don't have the cap. I'm concerned about the three with Johnson being a rookie and Morris seeming to show more and more warts.

Not only was he a rookie last year, but only played 43 games, and one as a starter. Your saying his stats in Euroleague matter in this instance. Okay get that. What I have a problem with is taking a flyer on a guy who only played 43 games last year, was injured, and has almost zero experience, over guys who have more experience, and are vets in the league which this team badly needs.
I see zero case, and it's actually less then that. His addition would be detrimental to the team as a whole. He serves no purpose in SVG's system (a guy who cant shoot) looking for playtime over proven NBA talent players, who are veterans, when the team has very little. Not better then baynes. Tolliver. Ilyasova. Maybe anthoney, but he's a defensive center with experience.
It would make no sense. There is no need for him on this team, and at 6'8 to play the sf on this team, he would have to beat out a myriad of players who can fill that slot. He can't shoot the ball. It's that simple.

Yeah, but, he's smart and Piston players are dumb. Fishella is just trying to help us out, just like on the Bucks board when he told them Monroe was a "bad signing" and a "great fit." Advice like that has to be worth something!

6' 9" homie who can't shoot, sign me up! We need him now, where else could we find a projected Per36 of around 8 PPG, 4 APG, and 5 RPG.

#1 we don't have the cap space to claim him
#2 if we had the cap space, I wouldn't want to claim him at almost $5mil
Before he got hurt, he looked like he was an NBA player. He didn't shoot well last year, but he shot a very high 3 point percentage overseas, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. He tried to do WAY TOO much though. That would be my concern even picking him up on a minimum deal. You can't turn the ball over like that as an NBA roll player.

I usually hate these threads where people clamor for other team's cast offs, especially when we already have 17 players under contract.
But, I agree in this case. Papa would definitely be a fit for SVG, and would be a better fit than Bullock or Granger.
