Markieff demands trade: " I don

Markieff Morris said he is determined to be traded by the Phoenix Suns.

“One thing for sure, I am not going to be there,” Morris said Tuesday.

"If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. I don’t give a [freak]. I am not going to be there at all. That’s just what it is."

Morris signed a four-year, $32 million extension in 2014. The Suns traded Marcus Morris this offseason and could suspend Markieff if he refuses to play.

“I’ve got to show up. No question.” said Markieff Morris, who is scheduled to make $8 million this season. “You can’t do that. I will be a professional. Don’t get me wrong.

“But it won’t get that far. … I’m going to be out before then, should be."

The Suns need to Marburry this guy or trade him to the worst situation possible.

I'm just waiting for the Kings to get in on this. It has to happen, right?

I want to know what he said to have his quote end up with [freak] in it. I see f___ (with the blanks) all the time, so why this weird version?

Lol, it does seem pretty stupid to censor the "F work" by inserting "freak" in place of it. Not only are you misquoting the speaker, but you also sound like you're in the 7th grade as well.

Word here from those close to him is that he plans to not show up until media day in order to create a media circus. He promises not to say anything at all (silent treatment) to other players or management and only one word answers to the coach.

But he is going to be a professional.

Also, he claims that the Suns never gave either of them a courtesy call after the trade. Suns management AND players ALL say that multiple calls were made but were unanswered and unreturned.

So. Do you really want to trade for him?

Well, it's far from ideal, but Jackson left OKC in a less than peaceful manner, and so far, so good attitude-wise.

You think the Suns stick it out or dump him? Or do you think they can and will get value?

I think they will trade him, but they will not dump him. I think they would take some less than what they consider value for him. I am not sure what you have that you would be willing to give. Bill Simmons said this. I am not sure what he means about the picks.

The "Markieff Morris for Eryan Ilyasova plus one Detroit/Phoenix 1st round pick swap in 2016 or 2017" trade is so damned inevitable.

The Suns would probably do that, but I am not sure you all would. Markieff shows consistency mingled with flashes of brilliance as a player. Some say he will be the next Sheed. I think thats and exaggeration.

Are you in Detroit? My kids just flew in there today. Its Dream Cruise time isn't it. I sure would love to dump 110 degrees here for an evening looking at cars on Woodward right now.

Seeing as I wouldn't deal Ily for Morris straight up, I am gonna have to give that one a big fat no thank you.

Sheed had some obvious issues but was one of the top 2-way bigs in the league. He was a top 3 post defender, an outstanding team defender and had a ridiculously high skill level to go along with his size/athleticism. Markief isn't half the player, yet brings the entire head ache.

I am not so worried about Markieff's "attitude" problem if SVG has signed off on it. From everythign i've ever read about SVG, its that he's very thorough and does his due diligence. He has more insight than any of us could ever have. If he doesn't see a problem and we get him on a bargain deal. WTF not.

Also that trade would never happen. SVG since about day 1 has target Illy. He brings a lot of what SVG values and he's considered a net positive asset rather than a throw in. Jennings ,Meeks, thomas, are all players that would be available. I really don't see Suns and Pistons working anything out as detroits not going to throw in any future assets . Just based on how we approached this offseason.

honestly with all guys like this JR SMith, ARtest, Sheed, Rodman, Marcus..........there all oddball personalities, however when they were put in the right situation, with the right team and HC. They thrived. Is detroit that for the Morris brothers. I would put down to say that SVG knows what he's doing and/or ain't goign to tolerate BS.

The other thing about acquiring sheed is we had a strong lockeroom. I believe we currently have a strong lockeroom but they are young

I would be fine trading for Markieff if we don't have to give up anything to valuable. I certainly wouldn't trade Ilyasova for him though considering that Ilyasova is the better player and isn't a headcase. I think bringing the Morris twins off the bench would be good if SVG can get them to behave. If not then we can just dump them as they aren't that expensive.

Jackson/Jennings
Caldwell-Pope/Meeks
Johnson/Morris
Ilyasova/Morris
Drummond/Baynes

That is a really deep team imo. I would be willing to gamble on the twins. It is a low risk/high reward move.

NOt sure about Ersan being the better player. YOu would have to disagree with these rankings alot. I am not trying to get into an argument here. This is an independent evaluation.

Rasheed Wallace was a headache, but not really in the same way Markieff appears to be either. In his pre-Detroit days he got into some trouble off the court, and he always had issues with refs, but I never really thought of him as a bad teammate in the way that the Morris's appear to be.

I've said it before, but the only way I take Markieff is:

Pistons in - Markieff
Suns in- Blake (exp) & Cartier Martin (exp)
Blazers or 76ers in - Granger & $2 mil

Trading a 2nd for Marcus was already an overpay and he wasn't demanding to get out.

The Morris slander has gotten a bit out of hand. I'm not saying he's perfect in the situation, but PHX and their FO has looked off these past couple years. We've heard so many cries of wrong doing and loyalty. It's not just the Morris twins.
