WANT A CLEAN SLATE ON REALGM?

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Fri Sep 18, 2015 7:10 am

So i know some posters don't read everything on the site and may not know about the Howards weekly/monthly thread. So just to give the boards a heads up, there's a opportunity to wipe the slate clean. Here's the qualifications so far, and i believe he will elaborate in the coming "Mass Dispatch Thread"

Third Qualification for “Clean Slate”

In the next edition of Mass Dispatch, I plan to start the “Clean Slate” Competition where one of you could have all of your warnings and infractions wiped clean.

The first two qualifications have already been revealed and they are pretty simple.

A Valid E-Mail Address on your Real Account
Appropriate Signature, Avatar and Location Line if you have them.

This last one is going to give some interested participants some pause though........

The third and final qualification for “Clean Slate is.......

- All Users will be required to list any Aliases and/or Duplicate Accounts that they have on their Application Post

No User will get in trouble for having an alias (es) or a duplicate account (s). They will just have to submit them in their application for banishment.

“Clean Slate” will officially start in the next Edition of Mass Dispatch and I will have full details on how you can apply for a chance to win a “Clean Slate”.

Why would you want a clean slate?

We've all earnt our reps - for better or worse. I'm not proud of every choice I've ever made but it is what it is

Exactly! This is also why all of you should reject any STD meds the doctors give you.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

I find that some folks here take their "jobs" way too seriously. All this stuff about wiping away past warnings and the like is more about trumpeting the fact that "Hey, look at us mods with all the power over you - come beg us for mercy so you can keep posting at this rad site".

Silliness.

We'll you have to remember you have alot of 12-20 year Olds posting on realgm, and to them, this is thier world. The Raptors board is a perfect example of this.

What I would like to win is "Clean slate" version of realgm. One without ads redirecting me, pop ups, e.t.c.

It's much easier to deal with mods on a clean slate. The more active posters probably value this than your average poster

Exactly EM. STD's are a myth. lol

You want a clean slate to get access to stuff youve been banned from suspended. Again if your more active on other boards, this may interest you. If your only on the Detroit board, i wouldn't think you'd care. Our mods are awesome here

Pretty sure I'm clean already. Somehow, despite my critical nature, I've managed to avoid ticking anyone off enough to warrant a warning.

Actually, I don't even know if that's true. I don't remember back more than a few years. I think my brain is shrinking.

well if you ever want to find out, just simply visit a another board and disagree with a mods opinion. They'll eventually bring up your infraction history and get childish

I think if they got replaced of 90% of the mods on the general board, that would solve a lot of their problems.

As for this "clean slate", meh. I guess it could be appealing to someone who's been banned.

or they realize that they've inconsistently enforced the rules and this is their way of making things right?

they also likely want to clean up all the multiple accounts.

This is hilariously funny to me as its indeed the advertisers and realgm that want an accurate count on the number of members that visit for ad rates.

Don't think for a second this is some altruistic gesture on managements part. They offer the olive branch with thier true motives hidden in the fine print.

Firm numbers, for firm rates.

Iam going to go for it,but I do think its silly you can get a lifetime ban,but turn around and just make another account. It would be alot better if they just kept it at suspensions. If you mess up and its your third warning, then you get a GB ban for 3-6 months. All this lifetime stuff is really silly, when you relize its a sports forum, were your temper can get the best of you sometimes.

I have tried getting my stuff overturned a bunch of times, the last time I was told I didnt write enough about what I did,to my credit, its gets really hard coming up with different ways to say the same thing about why you were banned and why you wont do it again and what you learned from it,so I just gave up and figured I would just live with the fact I cant use the GB anymore, hopefuly now something will change, and I can get my rights back.

I also notice .besides the young kids who get banned for stuff they rightfuly should, alot of new posters get banned, once users have been on for awhile and have learned to navagaite the site, you hardly ever get warnings anymore.

My advice is simple and has been echoed by many:

Don't post outside your home board.

Most "home" mods get to know you and are more tolerant of infractions...like a friend would be.

I am doing a "Clean Slate" Competition because Users change over the years that they post and I believe in second chances.

Users who have been suspended have made dramatic improvements and become Moderators.

Very few Users become Moderators though and have asked over the years how they can have some of their warnings removed.

Not only will this Contest give one User a chance to get a "Clean Slate", there will be other prizes like a Warning removal and maybe even another chance for Users who have had their Signature or Avatar privileges revoked.

This contest is not for everyone but some are very interested in participating. I look forward to seeing who puts themselves out there.

whats the time frame posters would be looking at in terms of getting the "clean slate"? 30 days?
