VINCE ELLIS: Detroit Pistons interested in Markieff

The Detroit Pistons are monitoring the Markieff Morris situation with the Phoenix Suns and have interested in trading for him.

The Pistons acquired his brother, Marcus Morris, in the offseason.

Markieff Morris previously requested a trade, but he's reported to camp saying he wants to remain with the Suns.

Bill Simmons would have called it months ahead of time if it happened.

Even though Markieff is regarded as the more talented of the two brothers, I can't say it would be an easy sell to convince me putting them back together is a wise idea.

Why in the world would you express interest after Markieff has said he's fine in Phoenix, driving up the price? The opportunity to buy low has passed.

pretty much sums it up, SVG wouldn't be the badd a* he is if he wasn't looking at every possible scenario.

I dont believe we can trade them Bullock (if we'd want to cause they traded him to us - circumvents the cap at all that) but:

llyasova, Dinwiddie & Martin?

They'd get the team friendly contract of Illy & Dinwiddie still has a shot at becoming a role player.

We re-unite the Twins & they'd have undying loyalty to SVG simply because he did it!

Dre, Markieff, Marcus, KCP, RJ with Baynes, SJ, Meeks & BJ off the bench.

What people wouldn't consider is that of that group only BJ might not be here next season!

There's a lot to be said for continuity

I don't think we'd get a "value" or "discounted" deal here.

The Suns played hardball in this situation and it looks like it may have paid off. I don't see a whole lot to this. even if the Pistons were in fact interested (still not sure of that).
