PRESEASON : PISTONS VS PACERS 7PMEST

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Mon Oct 12, 2015 10:49 pm

Time for our boys to build on their last performance.

What i am looking for

RJ- To remain consistent, take care of the ball and intiate offense
KCP- come out and show your ready to take leap, he hasn't really shown out since Game 1
Morris- consistency is the name of the game
Illy- i would like to see a little more familiarity and aggressiveness
Dre- energy energy energy

SJ- do you

I really hope we remain consistent defensively. The only thing that could shake my confidence in this team is a poor defensive effort, because its exactly that, EFFORT.

We will stay consistent defensively as long as we are taking care of the ball. Turnovers are the key to our energy.

We'll tear the Pacers up as long as they turn it over 20+ times like the Bucks did.

If the Bucks didn't turn it over that much I think we would've had a 10 pt lead throughout the game. Turnovers ruin the game for you but I think we were playing all around better basketball than the Bucks.

the problem with the bucks is that eventually someone has to score points. So in tight defensive games, shooting is at a premium. Bucks traded most of their shooting away for length

Oh I get it. Years of unreal success, followed by years of disaster makes people gun shy even when the obvious is staring them in the face.

Like you said.500 after that horrific start with all the poor players we had. All we have done is upgrade at important positions, and talent all around.

Unless something horrible happens, or the team just doesn't gel, it's obvious this is a good team. I mean dead to rights obvious.

TWO starting point gaurds, including the one that had us on a sick run that includes everyone but moose who was killing our offense. Also for bonus a veteran pg, and yet another pg in Dinwiddie.

Two SG's one in Pope that's growing, and one that's finally healthy (meeks) not to mention both Johnson and bullock who can play at that position.

Holy CRAP upgrade city at the SF position. Morris+Johnson+surprisingly bullock is an automatic +10 wins. Have people forgotten just how bad that position was for us last year? This upgrade is just so massive it bares repeating. HOLY CRAP what an upgrade.

PF last year was a dreadful fit in moose, and Tolliver. Now Tolliver won't play but in foul trouble or injury situations. This is our most dynamic position now. Erson, Morris, Stanley, baynes, Tolliver. Huge upgrade especially when considering fit.

At Center we now have Baynes, and joel. What a luxury to have three legitimate centers, all with styles that fit the system.

I get wanting to hedge bets, but this is clearly the best coached, best rostered, and most talented Pistons team since 07, period. It's okay to say that. Could there be problems? Of course no one can predict the future but everything is in place that much is obvious.

i just want to see them continue to play as one and give great effort. Thats going to be the formula to success and they have to do it every night so it becomes habit and eventually their identity.

KL reporting that SJ will start at the 3 and Morris at the 4 tonight. I'm hoping SJ starting at the 3 continues from this point forward and Ily and Morris battle out the starting 4 spot.

Honestly, it's Morris' race to lose for the starting 4 spot. Illy hasn't exactly blown away the competition so far, and I like Morris' ability to create a shot or two inside the arc. I think we should start SJ right away. Morris' natural position is a 4, just like his brother was and just like the position he played during Houston.

Really will put our top 5 guys on the floor together. I'll hate to see SVG doing full shift changes though where we go to a bench of Dinwiddie, Ilyasova, Tolliver, Bullock, Meeks. Meeks is steaky, but that is just bad right now.

If SJ can start and Morris can play PF we'll be in good shape when Ilyasova inevitably gets injured.
This kind of versatility has been missing for years.

WELL HOLY ****. CALLED IT!

Better it starts now and they have time to gel as its the obvious end game here although it could be because Paul George set Erson on fire he torched him so bad.

Also, if Stanley is a full time starter, his mpg, and stats could be off the charts. ROY is a huge possibility.

Glad to see SJ starting but I would rather have Ilyasova continue to start at the 4. Bring Morris off the bench.

I'm cool with either Ily or Morris starting at the 4.

The one thing Morris brings is grit and toughness and I like that, I'd love it to rub off on Dre a little, get that mean streak going.
