Might be just a little premature, but it's a nice thought. Starting a Pistons thread with this subject line after game 1 is akin to trolling.

I'll be there tonight - looking forward to see the shooting in game two..... And if SVG loosens up the rotation. My guess is that we'll see some Bullock and AT tonite....

Thursday, October 29th - Still #1 in the East! Great atmosphere last night- that's the best crowd I've been a part of since Webber was our center!

Pistons only won 5 games last season out of their first 28. I think this team is much improved with a great chance of hitting the finals.

Friday, October 30th. Eastern Conference Supremacy is on the line! Do what it takes! Faceguard Rose's bad eye. Baynes, toss a couple bows at Noah. Stanley, do Stanley things. Drummond - BE THE BEST PLAYER ON THE FLOOR! Go Stones!

Very reasonable response actually, but we're fans here too, so we hope for our team. I'll agree that some of this is pretty bold talk, but the trends that lead to the optimism offer real hope. What kind of a team are the Pistons if Drummond has actually made progress both with his FTs and defensive awareness/presence? Even though he has shot rather poorly in both games, his impact on the game has been much more positive. If the improved team versatility and defense as well as Drummond's progress seen in the first two games proves real, it's not hysterical to consider they could make more than a cameo playoff appearance. Takes some good fortune, like staying away from major injury issues, Stanley Johnson progressing faster than the norm, and such. We've been starved for some good basketball in these parts.
(Had to figure a subject line like this was bound to attract visitors.

Andre Drummond pretty much has a pathway cleared for him in the East.
The only center in the east that can come close to him in athleticisim is Hassan Whiteside.... Look at the centers in the EAst.
Gortat, Gasol, Horford, Porzingis, Okafor, Whiteside, Mosgov, Vucevic, Valanciunas, Lopez
Drummond can outjump, outspeed, or outmuscle every single one of those guys except for maybe Lopez.
The more I think about it... the Pistons are not going to have too much trouble in the EAst. Its the West that's going to give them problems. Pistons might be top 3 in the EAst.

I have a hard time believing they can keep playing like this while shooting so poorly. If the Pistons defense holds like this and the offense just comes around a smidge they are one of the top 5 teams
in the league. I'm sorry but I find that highly unlikely the first year this team is together. There is going to be a dropoff somewhere and it
is absolutely going to be the defense as the offense just can't get any worse.
West coast trip then if anyone wants to do a line and have a beer I'll be ready.

It's only a matter of time before the offense clicks. A big part of our offensive struggles is guys simply missing open shots and layups. If we converted on half of those we would be shooting above 40% and winning games by double digits. It looks like RJ is doing a mini transition like he did last year while he was getting acclimated. SVG is urging him to be in attack mode and he started doing that more against the Bulls and it showed. RJ hasn't been bad by any means but I know he has another gear and we are about to see that. This Indiana game is a great chance for us to get the offense going. We are at home, have high confidence, and are due for a good offensive game while IND is struggling defensively and on the boards, and probably has low confidence. If we don't let this be a trap game we could be looking at a great win. But again, this is the NBA and IND could blow us out on our home floor

I made one of the boldest sports bet of my life before the season started. Made a bet that Pistons will be a Top 4 seed in the East at like September. Please let it come true, and just go 22-0 to start the season, so that my heart can be at rest. Your team will be my 2nd favorite team for this season.
For the record, I was drunk when I made this bet.
