Flying to Chicago for the weekend. I'll be in the air for most of it, but should land around 9:30. Maybe I'll be able to catch the end of it in the airport

To be fair, our wins have been better. And we've down without especially shooting well, but playing sound defense. And we're at home. 3-0 is my prediction. :)

Chicago beat the Cavs and destroyed Brooklyn. They've looked good.
If we can make it ugly, we'll have a good chance. Our offense has looked pretty bad so far.
Reggie needs to get going. The ball needs to move more and Reggie is the key to that happening. It should be a great game.

I'll take beating the Hawks in Atlanta over eeking out a win against Cleveland in your home opener.

Excited for this game. I want all these Central teams to keep improving and bring back those rivalries. All the central teams have some nice young talent. Pistons are about to be on that orlando dwight ish. Will Detroit sell out or will it still take some winning before the crowds come back there?

How is this for surrounding Drummond with shooters...

Pistons starting lineup 3P% through 2 games:

KCP 50% on 6 per game
Ersan 50% on 6 per game
Reggie 43% on 3.5 per game
Morris 40% on 2.5 per game

I think it will take a little more winning. We've been very bad for a long time, and the arena isn't downtown. When the Pistons are good though, it always sells out.

should be a good game. i thought the bulls might start slowly with their new offense but they've played well out of the gate.

we'll need a big day from KCP, mainly guarding butler. drummond has a challenge as well guarding pau.

our defense has been pretty good through two games so hopefully we can slow down their new offense.

Bulls offense has been very good. If you watch their sets, it creates a lot of open looks and easy cutters for the basket. Lots of flex action.

This should be an interesting game.

Bulls front line will probably abuse us. Gasol is still a monster in the paint on both sides of the floor. Morris will have a huge advantage over Dunleavy or anyone they trot out at the 3. Those are the two match-ups that can swing the game, imho.

Should be one heck of a game. Worst case scenario, we unleash Dinwiddie on them again.

If we want to win this one, we need to continue to play defense. Specifically, we need to make the Bulls get shots from the guys that can't shoot.

Let Rose shoot from outside, but don't let him get to the rim uncontested.
Let Noah shoot whenever he wants.
Don't give McDermott open perimeter looks.

I'm a little surprised Portis has logged ZERO minutes in two games. I know the Bulls are very deep, but he played so well in the preseason that I'm shocked he didn't at least earn a 10th man spot.

Our offense needs to be somewhat better, too. This is the best team we've played so far (in terms of how they're playing right now), and we aren't going to be able to shoot under 40% and win again. We need stronger shooting performances from Andre and SJ in particular (although both have been good from the line).

Well one thing you can count on is Drummond torturing the Bulls again. He has had monster games against thier front line and that's with Noah and Gasol. Mirotic and Gasol? Drummond may have a 30/30 game.

Regardless, this is an absolute loss. This is a young team, prone to mistakes and after having done things they haven't done in years, or even over a decade (2-0, beat a team on the road opening night, beat Joey Crawford, beat **** utah) they are due. Time to pay the piper in this one.

Should be a good one though. Just can't see it happening. Now to go update the Stanimal thread...

Hey guys, hope we have a good game with no injuries (sucks about Meeks' foot).

I like Gasol a lot, but he was coasting through preseason and hasn't looked awesome to start the season. He's also much more effective when going up against smaller guys... which Drummond is not. He can absolutely have a good game, but I wouldn't assume he'll abuse you.
Dunleavy's still out because of his back. We're starting Tony Snell at the 3 to bring some defense and mitigate the defensive issues of Pau and Mirotic. Doug McDermott is the backup 3.

I'll only remark that I don't know what to say about these Pistons other than over two games they sure don't look like "the same ole Pistons" we've been seeing for the last 6/7 years. Of course, they're not going 82 and 0, but a few things are quite encouraging. This team seems to actually care about playing defense. Further, if Drummond's FT improvement is authentic, this becomes a tougher team to play. If they only continue to play defense like this they'll be much improved. The Bulls are good and deep. It's a home game for the Pistons, so I can't go with them having no chance to win. Get a couple of guys hot and defend like they have and they'll be a hard team to beat. Too bad about Meeks. When healthy (which he hasn't been for the Pistons yet really) he's a nice guy to bring off the bench when you need shooting. Still, with Bullock and SJ around, barring further injury problems backup SG shouldn't be a disaster most nights.
