As expected the power ranking are all over the damn place as no one is quite sure what to make of the Detroit Pistons. Here are some links, with overall above. Enjoy!

Damn. I feel like we're overrated now lol. I don't think we're top 5 right now. Maybe our defense is but our offense hasn't clicked yet. Big test tomorrow to prove ourselves. We need to dominate the Pacers to earn a Top 10 ranking

It was fun to see Detroit jump from 28 to 4 on Yahoo. Such a small sample size though. We probably need another 25 games to really see who this team is and can be.

Weirder still... Minny jumped to number 5... from number 7. :o

How the hell was Minny at 7 to start the season?

and

They had us at 29 to start.

Minny has a ton of talent on that team. Wiggins and KAT alone can tear it up. Yeah they're young but they're NBA ready. Add Rubio and Pekovic with Martin, Miller, and KG as veterans and you're looking at a good team. They're just in the West. They'd be considered better than the Celtics on the East.

EDIT: 7 and 5th though? That's GSW, Cavs, Clippers, Spurs, and OKC...yeah I don't get it. Minny isn't close to those teams.

3rd or 4th is appropriate if you are going purely by results thus far. The craziest stat I've seen is that the teams we've beaten are 8-0 in their other games this year. It's obviously high if you combine it with an estimate of how good we are/will be. Each of the rankings probably values results thus far vs. how good a team 'should' be differently.

We're still under the radar as far as fans go. I see a lot of people saying "Knicks" with no mention of us. That's fine with me.

Boys have been putting in work, no doubt about it. Until our record says otherwise, I have no issue with the high power ranking.

I'm sure at some point we will come back to reality, but it's going to be a fun ride this year. Odd feeling this, expecting to win games, I've missed it haha

Well, the 3/4 rankings are obviously absurd. It's not Warriors, Cavs, pistons.... We've played like a playoff team so far though, so those 11-14 rankings are reasonable.

I was surprised most with ESPN at 11. They have nothing to gain with us being good.

knicks fans are insufferable. Even when they suck (which has been forever) they can't whine enough about how bad they are because its another opportunity to talk about themselves

i'm sure the yahoo and nba.com power rankings are purely from the season to date, so it makes sense we're that high. we're undefeated and have played good opponents.

the other ones have their preseason power rankings factored in, which is probably more accurate to use at this point of the season.

Week 2 and Detroit is still #3... and there is a picture of Andre Drummond on the front page of nba.com with the link to the rankings...

1. Warriors
2. Cavs
3. Pistons
4. Hawks
5. Clippers

CBS rankings we actually dropped 2 spots sitting below the Bulls, who we beat, and Houston who rose 15 spots for being 1 game over .500.

Well earned props from ESPN today, all the way up to 5.

A 5-1 record with the strength of schedule we have certainly warrants such a placement based on the first 2 weeks.

Just checked. Wow we're at #5 just behind the Spurs and ahead of the Raps. Apparently they've been drinking the Pistons Cool-aid.

Most people are drinking the Dre Kool-Aid. Prepare for the inevitable "overrated" crowd to start rearing their head as we continue to develop as the Cinderella story of the season. Dre and Reggie will make it easy for people to bandwagon, but people will also be looking for any excuse at all to tear either of them apart. The struggle is real.
