One thing I'm waiting for and is going to happen sooner rather then later is Erson moving to the bench. It's painfully obvious now that three things happen when Morris is at the 4, and Stanimal starts at the 3;
Our defense is better. Morris is alot faster at the pick and roll recovery and just a flat out better man defender then Erson. He is also much more capable of recovering on a missed assignment by another player. Stanimal is also alot faster then Morris allowing him to stay will faster 3's and he and Morris are both interchangeable at positions so switches would not be anywhere near as damaging to us as they are now. Much more versatile defensive lineup.
Our offense is also a hell of alot better just on one play and that's the andre/jackson pick and roll. When Erson has been getting the ball it's either he shoots or he passes. Morris has the ability to breakdown the defense instead of being a turnstile passer which in turn bogs down our entire offense. A morris/jackson p&r is just a hell of alot more effective as well as he brings options at the 4 spot not currently available and will draw more then just a run out defense from the opposing teams 4. Less lane clog for Andre.
Stanley Johnson plays a HELL of alot better with the starters then he does with the bench. SVG has shown his willingness to close games with johnson on the floor why not open with him? The sooner he gets into a flow the better we will be ad a team.
As for this game I can guarantee they come out a hell of alot harder then against the Kings. Now if they can sustain it that's a different thing altogether. If they lose tonight, and then beat the Lakers a 3-3 road trip is excellent still for where this team is in its growth chart. A win here, and a win against the Lakers would be just unreal.
Not expecting it, but 4-2 road trip would be amazing. A 4-2 road trip will also soften a home loss to cleveland.
