How can you be disappointed with this years team so far?

There's still so much negativity around these threads, and i can not understand why. For years, we have had downright awful teams, who continually struggled to get anything going early in the season (5-23 anyone?), but now we have an absolutely BRUTAL early schedule which we have held a .500 record in, and andre drummond has become one of, if not the, best centers in the league.

Just look at the teams we've played:
Atlanta, Utah, Chicago, Indiana, Phoenix, Portland, Phoenix, gsw, Sacramento, Clippers, Lakers, Cleveland, Minnesota, Washington, Milwaukee, Miami.

Then look at what i would say are some pretty common top 10's in each conference
East: Cle, chi, atl, tor, mia, was, bos, ind, cha, mil/det
West: gsw, sas, okc, mem, lac, utah, hou, phx, dal, nop(?)

So the only teams we've played that probably wont make the playoffs would be sacramento, lakers, minnesota, portland and maybe milwaukee. 3 of those are on a long west coast road trip, one of those 3 a win. Then beat minnesota and theres really no excuse for the milwaukee loss.

But you guys need to realise we have played a brutal schedule with the most back to backs in the league, so to be .500, especially with the previous seasons have started, there needs to be more optimism with how this team has been going

Because we are not satisfied with the 8th seed and we can know the team can play better...?

How can you not be satisfied with the 8th seed? This team hasnt been able to win 30 games in a season in previous years

I definitely enjoy watching this team 10x more than previous years, but I know they can do so much better if we just correct some of our issues.

This team is fun to watch but honestly I don't think our record will be that dramatically better than years of past. Or if our record is better, I don't think we'll squeeze in for the playoffs. Eastern conference got so much better, like night and day compared to a few years ago.

This team having consistency issues early on shouldn't be a surprise. They are working in two new players in the starting lineup (with a PG who only played 27 games for the team last year) and 3-4 new guys on the second unit. If they aren't mostly resolved by January or so and half it would start being a bigger concern but for right now patience is the key. That's asking for a lot around here though.

It's not so much when we lose that I get real pissed. It's when they don't show effort like in Milwaukee or the Lakers. That kind of stuff is inexcusable.

I don't mind if we lose to the Thunder or the Warriors, it's the games like those that we are supposed to win.

"supposed to win" doesn't exist at our current stage of development. Stop setting unrealistic expectations and maybe you'll stop getting pissed when we lose. If we played well and won the games we are "supposed to" then we'd be a 55+ win team. That is what we are trying to build towards, not where any of you should expect us to already be.

I get the whole "effort" argument but there are very few teams that bring it every single night and that sort of focus is something to be taught and developed just like discipline and execution. Hell, our GTW championship crew didn't bring it every night. It's perfectly normal to be disappointed and even a bit discouraged, but what you shouldn't be is surprised. It's a young team. These are not experienced, savvy vets who've been down this road before.

You can't expect these guys to be "professionals" and not have any let downs when they are still trying to figure out what that even means. Building a winning culture takes more than a month or two.

Do you give 100% effort at your job every single day without fail? Would people watching you work think your body language or effort is lacking at times? These players are human. They'll have off nights. They'll be sore and tired and looking forward to a break in action. fans bitching and moaning about it irritate me the way "lack of effort" irritates you.

The Lakers have 2 wins. They're 2-12. I would hardly say "TRYING" against one of the worst teams in the league is an unrealistic expectation.

I don't get "pissed" when we lose. I may have criticism when we lose, but I also have criticism when we win.
