problem areas becoming clearer
Our GM made some huge mistakes BUT the problem in front of us is coaching. The high p n roll w/andre is not very effective and that's our primary offensive set. Jackson n Kcp r allowed to run around as if they r star players in the league. What other center in the league is expected to run to top of key on every offensive possession. Plays should be run for dre to establish deep position in the paint and kcp to get mid range looks much like Rip Hamilton got.

Re: problem areas becoming clearer
I agree with the offense needing to be shifted more around Dre in the post, now that he is becoming proficient there and we don't have the shooters to succeed running so many pick and rolls. Feels like we could be getting better % looks playing through him in the post instead vs Reggie always trying to dribble past 3 defenders to get the ball to the same point and being a lesser finisher if he does w/o turning it over.
We need a star go to scorer and Drummond has potential to be one in the post. He was 52% FG there the last 13 games before tonight. That might be our best % shot right now, and it might be time to increase his volume there and see if he can become that guy for us. Continuing this offense as is isnt' the answer.

I kinda agree with some stuff you said but Dre is not good enough to be the vocal point on offense. He is not a good passer and often times try to force things. Plus he is not just a bad FT shooter he is historically bad.

Dre's post game is much improved, but just dumping it to him over and over clearly isn't the answer. Our guards do need to make a better effort making sure he doesn't go long stretches without a touch though.
The problem isn't that we run a lot of pick and roll. The problem is that there is no continuity out of that set. eg teams are loading up on RJ and rotating a guy to get between dre and the basket. If RJ moves the ball quickly weak side and then clears through, you've got a small player on dre in the deep post and an easy entry pass from the weakside. Or RJ moves it to the strong side corner and that guy can swing it back up top and then you have defense scrambling. There are a ton of options to keep the play going if teams are loading up on your pg. Unfortunately, RJ is not making very good reads and is forcing contested shots with defenders in the paint crowding him and dre. If you don't make team pay for loading up on a play, they are just going to keep crowding you until you do.

Re: problem areas becoming clearer
Everything begins and dies with Reggie since he initiates the high PnR while everyone doesn't move/cut/curl. That's what this offense is design by Stan, a poor one at that since we have pieces that don't fit it.
We need to run more plays instead of trying to initiate everything through Reggie trying to awkwardly hero ball while Dre just slips the screen and charges past.

Yep as mentioned by others in the last few gamethreads (aka observations) Reggie has been bad reading defenses and often gets tunnel vision. It's too bad he's not a passing guard first and foremost, because we miss a lot of decent looks if we actually rotated more on the offensive end instead of standing still during the high PnRs.
I blame Stan more than Reggie.
