Last year he shot 35% from 3, 26% so far this year. 6'8" SF/SG. I feel like he'd just get in the way and steal some of SJ's minutes. Sure, he could get compete for the backup SG minutes while Meeks is injured, but I think everybody has been looking at the situation like we do not have anything to give and we are in anything position where we just have to wait.

He wouldn't take minutes away from Stanley Johnson. He'd allow Stanley to play more of his minutes at small forward rather than shooting guard and take minutes away from Morris.

And Morris is currently playing too many, he's definitely not a 37 mpg player.

That said, we don't have much to offer in a trade.

I have no confidence in contributions from Meeks this year. I view backup shooting guard as a need. Not sure he's the ideal fit, but right now we need better bench players and we need them now.

I think we should explore the possibility. The Nets are breaking what they've got and starting over. I would expect Bowers to inquire about their asking price. We need the shooting. And as you mentioned Meeks has not been the answer.

Nets don't have any picks until 2020 or something ridiculous like that.

I can see them wanting picks for Bogdan. I don't think he's worth picks IMO. Even in the 2nd round we can get a cheap developmental player and call it a a day especially the new CBA making rookie contracts literally peanuts.

I wouldn't give up anything for him. I'd rather roll with what we have and get guys back healthy than to waste cap space or draft picks on a band aid player who's not necessarily better than what we already have. People want him playing SG to send Stanley back to the 3, I'd rather see Stanley more at the 2 and abusing guards and possibly initiating the offense more. It's a "No Thanks" for me.

Detroit probably doesn't have any assets that Brooklyn would want. I really don't think Dinwiddie and a 2nd round pick (2016 or 2018) would do it.

I'd do. Maybe cause I'm european and overrate the guy, but he is skilled, clever, good shooter (instead of te %) and I'm pretty sure he could increase his production in a well coached team who play the right way.

If this is getting floated out there, it's likely because the nets are trying to get something for him, not just try to give him away. He's a decent player on a cheap contract, so I don't see why the Nets would move him for nothing.

I think our "need" for a backup sg will depend heavily on how many minutes Jennings is able to handle. If he can push 25-30 mpg, then we probably see Reggie sliding over in a smallish lineup.

I'm just not particularly inclined to pull the trigger on any sort of minimalist trade until we see what he looks like after 4-6 weeks of action and how exactly he fits with our current backcourt. Most of our growth needs to be internal in the form of getting healthy and developing Stanley.

If SVG is able to pull one over on somebody and get excellent value I'd be on board. Adding value to the roster is very rarely a bad thing. But we've come this far, we need to hang in there another month or so and see what we actually have before we start making changes.

This is my thought process as well. This seems like a move to make a move. It's short sighted and not really what we need. Let's develop Stanley, get Jennings back and then see where we are before we go selling off players/picks.

Not a needle mover. I'd take him for free, but that's about it.

Would anyone give up that package (Dinwiddie & a 2nd) for Allen Crabbe? Yes, this is entirely inspired by watching him play last night, but his stats seem to back up what I saw — kid's a wing who can just flat out shoot, and we desperately need that. He's a $900K expiring, so I really have no clue what POR would want (and, more importantly, reasonably expect) for him. I have to admit, I'm a bit hesitant to keep dealing away 2nd rounders (we've already dealt ours for 2017, 2019 and 2020), but then again, dealing those three picks helped us get Reggie and Mook, so they were well worth it.

I like him, he's solid and would be a nice backup wing
