Lots of good matchups in this one, and I fully expect the Heat to come out strong after the Pistons stomped a mudhole in thier ass in the last meeting.

All I know is unless he has some sort of off-night, Jackson is going to utterly destroy Dragic once again. The Heat have problems with us and they better have a better gameplan against us or they are going to have problems.

Its possible Jennings doesn't play.

SVG said he'd play Blake over Jennings right now. Could that change with some practices by Tuesday? Perhaps. Who knows.

Really want to win this one. Imagine all the Heat fans bragging about Whiteside if Dre happens to have a down game.

Yeah, Stan made it very clear that he will play the guys who give him the best chance to win right now, and that might not be Jennings quite yet... He may feel that Brandon needs a few more full contact practices with the team and to get acclimated with all the new guys a bit more before throwing him out there.

We destroyed the Heat the last time we played. I recall Wade barely played though, not sure if he was hurting? But KCP held him to a terrible shooting night. Hopefully we can repeat that result again.

Wade just isn't good anymore

Another big game against a team we are battling with in the East. We have played well against this current Heat team in recent memory so hopefully we can pull out another big win against them on the road. The key matchup imo is Ilyasova vs Bosh. If Ilyasova (and Tolliver) can play even serviceable defense against Bosh and hold him to an average night I like our chances. Dre has consistently outplayed Whiteside and I like KCP against Wade too. Dragic has plummeted offensively too so as long RJ gives some sort of effort defensively and doesn't let Dragic work his way into a rhythm we should be okay. I expect a good defensive effort since apparently SVG has been working on that during this small break.

Yeah, plus that last game was at home. We can and have beaten almost anyone at home. The road as been tougher. Until the marathon Bulls game, our only road win against a good team was Atlanta opening night.

I'll admit I came away from the last Miami game unimpressed enough to think we've got a shot here though.

I watched a few Heat games and I disagree. Wade is getting old, but he is still having some solid games.

This is the NBA and any team can beat any other team any given night if a team plays lethargic, or just comes out flat.

With that said, I can see why Miami fans think they are some sort of contender(I believe that is wildly inaccurate)but against Detroit they have serious matchup issues.

The two biggest of course are Reggie vs Dragic, and Andre vs Whiteside.

Reggie just utterly and completely has Dragics number.

Last year vs the Heat(3 games) he averaged;

25.3ppg 7apg 3.7rpg 68.2%FG 63.63p% +/- of +13.3! in 33.2mpg

This year in one game so far;

18ppg 7apg 4rpg 58.3FG% 80%3P% +/- OF +27.0 IN 26.2mpg

The Heat absolutely have to figure out Reggie before they do anything else. Maybe even bench Dragic vs him, and play a bigger guard against him.

Drummond last year vs the heat(3 games) before he went full beast mode this year;

19ppg 15rpg 2.3bpg 69.4FG% +/- of +20! in 35.8mpg

This year in one game so far;

18ppg 20rpg 5bpg 50.0FG% +/- of +14 in 32.7mpg

Those are both star destroyer numbers vs the Heat. To win this game either A.)Pray Detroit comes in flat, and lethargic after having three days off for the first time all year and coming off a 4 O.T. thriller, or B.)Gameplan correctly. Drummond is one of the very few players in the league Whiteside just cant handle physically (No one in the league can this isnt a slam on Whiteside) so he has to have help on the block. They single covered Drummond the last game and Andre just moved Whiteside anywhere he wanted while grabbing every rebound, and hook shotting them to death.

I really wonder what Miami has planned for the future as Wade is on the verge of being done(33 years old now) and Bosh isnt a spring chicken either.

A few updates on my previews for the holidays: OffRtg and DefRtg replace points scored and opponents points scored, plus Reb% and Ast% replace the respective numbers of rebounds and assists.

We got this.

I think that the team is starting to heat up and will go on a run. Getting Jennings back is only going to help. The bench scoring will automatically improve with his inclusion.

I believe he said he'd play "whoever gives us the best chance to win". And then immediately following the game, activated Jennings to the roster.

Will he play? Don't know, hence the question mark. But SVG left it very vague about his plans.
