Exactly as the title says.
Complete joke and there's a HEAT mod in the General Board trying to act like Wade is a victim because people don't think he should start.
I hate basketball fans.

I never expected him to get voted in by the fans so I'm not surprised. If he makes it, it was always going to be by coaches vote.
Maybe this will give him some extra motivation though.

Not shocked the AllStar game and the voting is a joke.

NBA all star weekend and letting the fans vote has always been a joke.
The ASG is basically a lazy, no defense, non competitive game, basically it's a hey you let me dunk and ill let you dunk type of game.
The fan voting is a joke, they always voted for the most popular or most famous player and not someone who actually derserves it. it's a joke Kobe is leading the votes with how awful he's been, i'm not surprised... but it's still /facepalm and pathetic joke.
The AS weekend is aimed at kids and teens, not for real basketball fans, who want a real basketball game.

fan voting is the absolute worse. if reggie gets a nod, its from the coaches. maybe he shouldnt get in this year but he definitely deserves some recognition.

I'm sorry, did anyone expect anything different?
Voting is done by the general public. The Pistons have had ZERO nationally televised games so far. Most voters are casual fans who probably barely know who Reggie Jackson is, and haven't watched a single minute of his play to know that he's having a breakout year.
Who cares.

I'm surprised Dre has gotten as much votes as he has so far I'm happy with that at least.

thats ridiculous. We cant really complain... its Pistons fans that aren't voting him in. I don't think all of it is based on national attention, its based on the excitement of the fans in that city and the amount of votes they give. For instance Chicago votes Jimmy Butler and Toronto votes Kyle Lowry to the top.
There's only a few guys that get league wide votes across any city.
So basically if we want Reggie to rank higher we gotta vote him in and the team has to do the PR thing with him like they've done with Drummond

I will say one thing after seeing the listings:
I totally understand why 8 of the 10 players would be ranked above him, even if I don't like it:
Kyle Lowry has been better, and both he and Derozan are playing for the "home" team this year. They were always going to get more votes. Lowry deserves to be a starter and is currently getting short changed in that regard.
Wade is Wade. Huge name, undeserving, but what are you gonna do. Ditto to Irving, who HAS BARELY PLAYED A GAME. Butler and Rose play for much bigger markets and have been seen on national TV a lot. They're bigger names.
John Wall is a more established and bigger name and has played roughly equally if not slightly better than Jackson, and Isaiah Thomas as been very very good and plays for a bigger and more rabid fanbase.
Lin and Batum both have more votes than Reggie. That's just lack of vigilance on the part of Pistons fans, there's no excuse for it.
I'll confess I'm extremely surprised Drummond is getting more votes than Carmelo.

Not surprising, but definitely frustrating. I bet most casual fans still think he's on OKC

Drummond is pretty well known at this point. He was the #1 ranked player in the country going into college, Constantly tweeting with followers, signed to big brands like Jordan, dating celebs etc... Reggie though nobody really gives a crap about besides us unfortunately.

I'm not surprised he's getting considerable support. I'm surprised he's getting more support than the main star of the team that plays in the league's largest market. Melo always gets massive votes.

Hopefully the coaches are smart enough to put him on the bench. the fan voting is a joke anyway. Remember Iverson was an All star when he was here?? He was awful and he still got voted in.

The fans did pick George, James, and Drummond, a pretty solid set of choices for front court players. Not sure if it makes up for picking Wade and a guy who hasn't even played for guards.
Shame Kobe is going to make it over the dozens of Western front court players who deserve it over him, but other than that the fans did okay in the West.

Jackson could average 30 PPG and still not get voted in by the general sheeple.
His chances of the making the team were always going to come from the coaches voting him in as a reserve.

No need for being snide. I'm not surprised.
Just thought the board would be interested.
Don't be a dick, mate.

You really need to take your defensiveness down several notches if you took my remark as a personal slight against you rather than a general statement about the predictable nature of an uneducated voting public.
My "who cares" was meant as "why should we care what the general public thinks" not "why did you bring this up.
I hate to pull the mod card when I'm the one being attacked here, but your language there at the end is totally unacceptable too. Leave that elsewhere when you come onto this board.
Thanks.

You're fine. I'm sure you've heard worse. If you wanna be nit-picky, I asked you not to be a dick. I didn't say that you are one.
You should start pulling the mod card on posters that truly ruin this experience on this board rather than pretending to be attacked.
You should know who they are by now by the amount of complaining we do about them in game threads.
Thanks in advance.

I used to use the whole "oh, I'm not calling you one I just said you're acting like one" excuse all the time. The reality is that there really isn't all that much of a difference in terms of the typical reaction or in terms of the typical intent of such a remark. It was an attack just the same.
I don't want the word used at all. That should be simple enough.
