With trades getting bounced around on the other board, I found myself wondering if it would be harder to give up Reggie or Stanimal.

I'm not sure why the title of the thread and the poll are different, but the answer is the same and it's Reggie. Stanley is a 19 YO rookie. He'd be very easy to trade, assuming you'd want to? A team would have to conclude they want and can afford Reggie's contract. Odd question though, as it's kind of apples and oranges?

Maker, right answer wrong rationale. I love reading your despairing and disparaging posts, but SJ is not "very small for his position."

Changed title to make it consistent.

reggie is playing at an all star level, and i dont think its a fluke and he'll continue to get better as the team gets better. itd be harder for me to give that up, rather stanley.

stanley is obviously super young and could have all the potential in the world. his former is broken as hell though. until his shot gets better, it'll hold him back. i like what he brings outside of scoring the ball, though. he still needs time but id value reggie over him for years to come.

Jackson likely will be more valuable for a while, years I suppose. SJ's problem is that he's too confident, aggressive, and assertive. He forces things and takes bad shots. I don't think his form is broken. Too small? The guy is a fireplug swing man who isn't bullied in the paint and defends hard on the perimeter? He rebounds well. He's a willing passer. In height and reach he might be a little below average. In heart and strength he's well above. (Ben Wallace was also 'too small.') Kelser sees it, for sure. He's making people feel him and he's just a kid. SVG loves him, even though he drives him crazy sometimes. You have to give him an A for Attitude?

Surprised it's unanimous for Reggie right now. Pay and potentail are two factors for Stanley. I can't see Reggie getting a lot better and there are some warts to his game. Stanley is a kid.

i didnt say he was too small. and sj's form is broken. hes not square at all. can he make it work? maybe, but he needs to work on it. i like how if hes slumping he does other things to keep his confidence high. i do like the kid but i dont see the superstar potential other fans see. i obviously want to see him stick around the team for a long time though.

I'd rather trade Reggie, given a choice, but he's also far more valuable, and that kind of trade would likely kill us short term.

It Reggie as of now. In 2-3 years idk. I love what i'm seeing from Stanimal, that point forward, jack knife player. I can't wait to see him 2 years from now

Reggie has more value to the team right now. I don't think anybody can question that. He's excelling as the starting point guard of the team even if he has some shortcomings (most players do, even the big stars). Going forward he probably will be more important than Johnson too. Stanimal would have to develop into quite the wing scorer/defender/facilitator to be more important than Jackson, especially in Van Gundy's system and the team being built around Drummond.

Jennings looks like a guy coming off of a serious Achilles injury too. Any thought of re-signing him and moving on from Reggie should be put to rest.

You said more value to the Pistons, not more value in trades. For the foreseeable future, Reggie will be more valuable to us, he's winning us games, simple as that
