On the Lowe Post podcast, Zach Lowe just proposed to David Thorpe a trade of Illyasova, KCP, Tolliver, and our 1st round draft pick for Kevin Love and they both loved the idea and were going off on how great it would be for both teams for about 5 minutes. Lowe added if the Cavs want more, we could switch Morris for Tolliver.

What do you guys think? They seem to really value KCP here and claim he could be the Cavs answer to defending Curry. I would love to have Kevin Love on this team. That would solve our problems at the 4 spot. We could play Jennings at shooting guard until we sign someone else, maybe even DeRozan over the off-season. If we end up keeping Morris then we could have SJ play the 2 and Morris the 3 and maybe even try to get Kieff to back up Love, although we would be out of tradeable assets at that point.

The argument against this is that we would be helping the Cavs out a ton. They cant seem to get their **** together and learn how to have their 3 superstars play together and we would fix this for them by taking back one of them in exchange for 2 power forwards that could shoot the 3 and give LeBron space and a starting 2 guard that may turn out to be a superstar one day and a 1st round pick to boot. The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to talk myself against it, but maybe Love is just what this team needs to get us over the hump.

KCP defends our opponents best guards and does an awesome job at it. We're not trading our rich-man's Tony Allen. If Love is trading watch him go somewhere like Phoenix.

I'm not a Love fan. He's a soft loafer like Monroe. If the Cavs have to trade him to win a title, why do we want him?

Horrible trade for us. I'm not interested in trading our best defender for a terrible defender PLUS two quality players and a 1st rounder. No thanks. If we are offering this kind of package it better be for an allstar two way PF.

I was under the impression that he just doesn't fit on the Cavs for whatever reason; maybe his personality clashes with Lebron or he needs too many touches on a team that already has Lebron and Kyrie. Whereas, Stan's system needs a stretch 4 to complement his dominant center and Love is the best stretch 4 out there.You're right though, Love is **** at defense, but there aren't a whole lot of stretch 4s that can play defense besides Ibaka.

He would be perfect on offense, but he's such a liability on defense I'm not sure you can win with him unless you have Lebron. And I think he's too unathletic to be coached up on defense like some 1 way players can.

I say let him be the Cavs problem.

Not opposed to the offer, just think we'd need more than Love, or at least someone that fits better on both ends. I'd do that deal for Ibaka.

Yeah, maybe if the deal was for Ibaka or PorzinGOD.

It just seems that this team as it is built now doesn't have the ability to play at a high level on a consistent basis. This is the type of team that you wouldn't be too surprised if we blew out a great team like the Warriors/Cavs or if got blown out by mediocre teams like the Pelicans.

Ibaka would be ideal but I wouldn't give up KCP for him. Swap KCP with another 1st rounder and maybe Morris and I would agree. KCP is part of our future though and it would take a lot for me to want to part with him.

Damn, I had no idea there was so much love for KCP on this board. I remember feeling bummed out we weren't able to draft Ben McLemore instead of him lol.

Past 11 games or so pretty sure KCP is playing like a top 10 SG probably better. I don't wan't to trade him. Probably would do it in a trade for Porzingis tho. Any tade that has KCP in it needs to bring back something really nice, Ibaka or Love nah

Just imagine KCP on the Cavs, everyone would love and drool over him kinda like Dellavedova before he started diving into guys knees.

I was actually thinking to deal for Delly. He would be a perfect backup PG for a long time. Jennings for Delly and something? I'm sure it will never happen, just saying I like Delly

Say we sign RA for 16m per. I'd much rather pay that and keep our young core together than sacrifice it(For KL) in the hope of becoming instant contenders, not to mention pay 22 mil per for KL. I just don't see the difference in RA and KL being worth 6million + per, KCP,SJ and a first rounder.

Just checked out that thread and surprised to see that most of the posters want us to include Stanley Johnson in the trade as well. Screw that. If thats the price I would rather just sign Ryan Anderson in the off-season like you suggested. Kevin Love is good, but he's no prime Dirk Nowitski. That trade would be amazing for the cavs.

This deal is absurdly good for Detroit and the Cavs would never do it. Illy and Tolliver aren't long term pieces and our pick won't be anything special. I like KCP and he's somewhat better than I originally gave him credit for, but to say we wouldn't give this package for Love is ridiculous.

Love is 27 and signed long term. For me it's a buy low opportunity on a high tier player. He's gotten too much of the blame for the Cavs' struggles.
