If we lose to this dumpster fire, were in more trouble than we think.

Unless you're playing the 76ers of earlier this year, there are no guaranteed wins on the road. In fact, this is the NBA where even the bad teams are actually pretty good, so really no guaranteed wins at all. The Pistons are 23-20 on the 23rd of January but are in trouble? That view (careful with the "we") might be some small malfunction in keeping perspective.

the nuggets are one of the worst teams in the league at home and their home record is very similar to our road record - 8-14 to our 9-13 road record.

crazy how a team we should be a lot better than is essentially on our level in their building (or rather we're on their level).

our back to back struggles concern me but so do our road struggles. we have a similar home record to the raps (theirs is 14-6, our is 14-7) but because their 14-9 road record and our 9-13 road record is the difference between being the clear #2 seed in the east and being in the middle of the playoff pack. there are nine teams in the league that have a .500 or better road record and they are all playoff teams. all of them are veteran teams too, except maybe boston.

anyways, i hope we beat the nuggets.

easy there bud, we are going to call your team a whole lot worst sh* throughout this thread, especially if its a close game. If you can't handle that, you ain't going to want any of this.

If RJ gets outplayed by a struggling Mudiay, RJ needs to wake up and realize he's our highest paid player.

i'm interested to see how the team responds to SVG calling them out. Even Jennings comments should have ruffled a few feathers too.
I'm looking for Reggie to step up. He needs to be a better leader. Drummond may be the best player, but Reggie has to be the leader. I don't see Drummond taking that on.
Denver have a few dangerous guys so by no means a guaranteed win, but Detroit needs to take this one.

I'm definitely curious to see how they respond, and think SVG did the right thing by calling them out after that game.

I expected a letdown game after outplaying the Rockets and having to play another game right after that, but we didn't need to get blown out.

Every time I see that picture of Drummond smiling, it reminds me of Damon Wayans in Major Payne.

Just didn't know what you were referring to. But thanks for the warning.

Something that's kind of alarming is how low our BPG is. We have a decent defense, but you would think with all of the athleticism we have, we would average a BPG a lot higher in ranking.

There will not be any combination of words in the English language, or any other language for that matter, that will be able to describe my frustration if we come out playing lazy complacent defense after all the talk following the NOP game.

Drummond does indeed need to go for a few more blocks than he is right now but with that said, I think our low BPG total is a product of SVGs conservative defense. He is more about just staying in front of your man, holding your ground, and staying down to secure rebounds and prevent fouls rather than flying all over the floor gambling for steals and blocks that leave us out of position defensively.

Our BPG total would be neat the top if we had a shot blocking 4. This is the one thing we need to be elite defensively. A 4 that p and r well, and blocks shots. Hits the three would be a bonus.

That NO game was truly pathetic. A couple guys showed up and that was it. Really disappointing. I love that SVG tore them a new one publicly. It's exactly what they needed. If the team wants to be legit, they need to show effort every game.
My favorite part of SVGs rant was when he shut down the reporter who mentioned young teams being inconsistent. That was so true. Effort doesn't come with experience, it's a choice. And SVG let them know.

My daughter - she's 8 - called the Rockets a bunch of inbred fukkers the other night. I can't wait to see what she says when she sees Faried's hair. ;)

I swear I didn't teach her that terminology though.

I'm sure if we went over to the Nuggets board we could find someone who would say something unkind. Kind of a given. Really like your latest European big. It'll be interesting when the other gets back.

Yup, sadly Ibaka is the only guy I can think of that fits that description and it would take some unexpected circumstances to get him here.
