2016 TRADE DEADLINE

I humbly submit that it's time for this thread and we should collect all rumors, thoughts, and trade proposals in one place; if any Mod agrees, could you please sticky this? Thanks in advance!
And now, to get the ball rolling —
Adrian Wojnarowski said on The Vertical Podcast that the Atlanta Hawks could “push the reset button” and All-Stars like Jeff Teague and Al Horford could be available closer to the trade deadline.
That quote came from a Celtics blog (reposted on HoopsHype), but they're quoting Woj from a reputable podcast. So — Al Horford is many Piston fans' dream catch at PF (myself included) ... but how much would you pay for him as a potential rental?

Isn't Horford a free agent at the end of the season? I wouldn't give up a whole lot in a trade for him but I still would love to see him in a pistons uniform.

I know he would be considered a "rental", but once you get them playing for you, you can hopefully win them over and get them to re-sign. I don't want to part with Jackson, KCP, SJ or Drummond, but everything else would be available. And our first round pick, as long as we make it to the playoffs, is of marginal value to us. Illyasova and our first?

So PF is obviously the position of need for us as well, and when you look at available PFs in free agency next year, there isn't a whole lot of good fits. Horford would definitely be a great add to the team.

Also we'd be acquiring his full bird rights, but in any S&T after the season we'd be locked into only 4 yr offers, so wit a trade now we could offer 5 years and a bigger yearly increase. But I think I'd gamble on not trading for him now and bidding for him in the off-season, because having our first and Ersan here would make us more attractive an option to Al, and as long as we were willing to offer a 4 yr max money deal I think that is the most he'd get anywhere else (including in any S&T under the new rules) so money would be equal.

I think if they're going to get rid of Teague or Horford, they'll be looking for cap space, picks, and projects. Can we make a sign and trade? There's no way to guarantee that he'll re-sign with us. I want him but the only way is if he signs an extension. Otherwise I'd rather pick him up during FA. We shouldn't give up our first round pick for a rental. It's too risky.

I do think Horford would make this team a lot better, he could be that veteran leader that we need. Its just a matter of how much it would take to get him.

He'd fit like a glove, and we could even play some small-ball lineups with him at C, too (which would add another wrinkle to our team). I've been absolutely against trading our 1st rounder for a possible rental of Ryan Anderson, even though I think the chances of re-signing him afterwards would be greater for us than for Horford (just based upon his history with SVG). But that said, Horford is just
SO good and
SO perfect for us that yes, I'd risk pissing away our 1st rounder for the advantages having him on our team for the rest of this year would provide towards signing him long term this summer.
But I also expect Atlanta's gonna want more than that; they're gonna want KCP or SJ, and I would
NOT include either of them in a deal for an impending UFA, nor would I include more than one 1st round pick. So, are there any bad contracts we could absorb for them in the deal in exchange for expirings? I have to think SVG would be willing to use some of our summer cap space in this instance.

Not even remotely close.
As for the Horford talk, I think just about anybody here would be willing to deal Ilyasova and the 2016 first round pick (some kind of salary filler might be needed too, Blake and/or Anthony would work) for him even with him being a free agent after this season. It's hard to say if that's enough though. On one hand were talking about one of the best power forwards in the league that can be physical, shoot from mid-range, and defend. But on the other hand he might end up being just a 30+ game rental and that obviously detracts from his trade value.

Not dealing Our 1st rounder for a rental of Horford. It's not the best draft but you still got studs like Denzel Valentine who could be there when we draft and I'm all for getting him here for the next 8 years or so over a couple months of Horford.

It's hard to believe the Hawks are going to give up on this year already by replacing vets for youth... They're in a good position financially and competively.

Yeah I wouldn't understand if they try to reset the roster. It's bad timing to give up now.

I think the Hawks org sees their peak and realizes that it's not going to get them to a championship or the finals...so their thinking might have changed in that respect as far as the future goes.

As for potential trades for us, would anyone have interest in Mirotic now that it looks like the Bulls want to keep Portis over him...and I don't blame them.

No way Hawks move Al. It's Teague or Schroeder it seems. I could see them trying to acquire a legit big body center to appease Al's desire to play PF actually.
I'll predict - Teague and Splitter to NYK for Rolo and Grant.

I have a feeling Mook maybe going out to join his brother on a third team and we pick up assets+vet.
More than likely something revolved around Dinwiddie and meeks . SD for Plumlee(mil)

The asking price would be too much. Noah Vonleh is a name i'd look out for.
Don't you guys forget about Kief!!!

Valentine is probably going to be a top ten player. Unless he's severely regressed

DV is going to drop because he's a senior and will be 23 yrs old near the start of next season. I see him more 14-20 range. Lotto teams are looking for home run upside. But with so many picks traded in this draft maybe a playoff team has a late lotto pick - I haven't really looked too close at at all that yet.
