Really hope KCP is 100 percent soon after the break but its going to be nice seeing Stanley in the starting lineup a few more times. Hopefully if he continues to play well he will still be in the starting lineup when kcp comes back.

Also KCP probably did the dumbest thing after a groin injury and tried to stretch it. He may have made it worst

the good news is that strains *usually* aren't too severe, they just need time to heal. we're definitely gonna need him down the stretch and for playoffs so hopefully he comes back okay.

we're gonna see Stanley playing a lot more SG and if tonight was any indication he actually might be better there right now.

This might be good for the future of the season as long as he is back soon after all star break. We get to see Hilliard maybe he surprises? He played well tonight. Stanley will probably look like a rook some games, but the more minutes will be nice.

Core strain is often used the same as sports hernia. Basically a tear usually without muscle bulging through. These things take a month or two. Not a week or two. I doubt he's back until sometime in March but would LOVE to be wrong.

from what I've seen of him lately he's played like i hoped he would - just play in control, make the easy pass, don't force anything and play solid D. hitting shots is a plus too.

players like that aren't going to be difference-makers but the kind of guys you need at the end of your rotation.

Up until KCP getting hurt, Detroit has really been pretty lucky with injuries this season. Only Meeks, who if all would have went as planned was only going to be the 7th-8th man, has gotten hurt this season. Pistons have used the same starting five for like 45 or so games, which is pretty rare.

Damn, this makes me nervous. The only guys we'll have available to play SG are rookies...

it might affect a similar area but is less severe than a hernia. a sports hernia often requires surgery, a strain requires rest. the severity of the strain dictates how long the player needs to rest.

i would expect KCP back close to the end of the month.

NBA should outlaw joint hockey and basketball arenas. Or at least put heavy liability on basketball teams to make sure the playing surface is 100% safe. But nobody will care about KCP in league offices - but imagine if Steph or James was injurd because of the Boston wet court.

Might be a little overreaction to this injury according to SVG

I'd love for him to get back on court soon. He was playing well in the month of January finding his niche in the midrange and defending like a bulldog.

Otherwise, I think I would start both KCP and SJ. The amount of hustle and leadership out there would be excellent.

Stanley needed this break. If he plays like he did against the Knicks for the majority of the games KCP is out, he'll deserve a starting spot permanently, perhaps at the expense of Ersan. That'll be a pretty small lineup, though.

Names brought up in the trade forum as cheap shooters -

Gerald Henderson
Sean Kilpatrick
Randy Foye
Brian Roberts (snort)
Jerryd Bayless
Marcus Thornton
Gary Neal
Hollis Thompson
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Morris is actually the same height as ersan but has a wingspan 2" shorter, which he makes up for in athletic ability.

One of the reasons why I'm ok with Morris getting the PF position over Ersan. Ersan pumpfakes too much and tries to drive despite the loose handles and coordination. At least Morris can initiate a dribble drive after pump faking and maybe even pass out to a 3 from defense collapsing to help.

Actual offense that resembles somewhat of a motion offense instead of the stagnant one we have now.

This is good for us long term. Gives Stanley more time to develop and let Hilliard show us what he can do/hoping earn a spot in the rotation.
