New Pistons Logo for 2017! TBD...

My thoughts exactly, I like it simple and clean. Don't want some stupid big logo with a cartoon on it or something.

There are plenty of good logos, not just a basketball with type, across the league that don't have a cartoon on it. The only one that comes close to that is Boston's and I don't think that's particularly great.

I get the nostalgia factor, and lots of folks on here are old enough to remember the teams from back then. That's great and the successful teams of the past should be respected. But the Detroit Pistons organization of today needs a complete rebranding. No, it's not going to help make them a better team at all but it could do a bit to make them more interesting or visually attractive. Something like this isn't going to do it.

Well, that and businesses have to accept the way things are in this era. You have to be marketable... and nothing about this team is. Anywhere. The best thing they have going for them right now is the story about Van Gundy adopting a dog.

But yeah the timing here would have been perfect. Oh well.

Only thing I would consider giving a big change to would be the font and colors. I like our colors but I really like the colors from our chrome jerseys. That would look sweet doing it in that color scheme but it wouldn't match with the Wings.

Ok gents...between what I've seen here, family, and friends at work, I've got about 50 shirts desired. That will get me into the $10 or so per shirt territory at break even or near it. I'll compile a list of colors and sizes from these posts and post a list for confirmation in case any info is missing.

Yep. I got in touch with roc and he's going to make some updates to the design. Once that's done I'll get it rolling and figure out how to get shirts to people (in person, shipped, etc.) and payment made (in person, Paypal).

I would guess so. Nike is taking over the jerseys soon tho, so maybe they'll change them up

At first I thought I disliked the entire custom pistons font. But it's really just the 'S' that looks bad. (really bad).

I think the overall court looks much better than just the logo itself. Glad they got rid of that huge space between Detroit and Pistons.

Excited to see Nike's take on jerseys. My point was more along the lines of a completely new jersey redesign. Judging from the logo though, it's probably just minor tweaks. Some more grey maybe?

I wouldn't expect any significant changes to the jersey - Nike designed the current iteration back in 2001 with only some minor changes over the years. I'd expect to see Motor City retired since navy is no longer in the color scheme (thankfully) and the return of the old red alternate.

Big fan of the logo. Well done modernization of the Bad Boys era logo.
