Simple poll - will we trade Jennings or not?

I say he will be traded because Jackson plays 35mpg, Stan doesn't like playing Jackson at the 2-guard, meaning our back-up PG is getting 13mpg. Jennings is trying to earn his next contract and needs more playing time to prove himself and his health, and Blake is decent enough in those minutes. I think he's traded for a 2/3 if Stan doesn't like Johnson at the 2-guard, and a 3/4 if Stan is okay with Johnson as the primary SG back-up.

I just don't trust Steve Blake. Unless some sort of miracle deal comes through the pipe I think we keep him.

Before Jennings came back from his injury I thought the team would keep him around, but seeing how Van Gundy is actually using him in that role and not being much of an upgrade from Blake at the moment I think he will get moved.
Whether or not Jennings has any value is a whole different argument though. I'm not expecting much.

It doesn't seem to be working so far, so I wouldn't be surprised if he is moved. I was hopeful that he could be a high scoring 6th man, but he hasn't adjusted very well to a bench roll.

The player we get for him is going to have to fill two check boxes. 1. He has to help us make the Playoffs because SVG thinks Jennings is helpful in that regard. 2. He has to have more than one year on his contract, preferably 3 years because SVG is also trying to assemble a team for the long term. Getting Morris at 5 million for 4 years? Incredible

Yes please. I don't like our team chemistry with him. All these issues we have been having lately seem to coincide with him being in the rotation. Get what you can for him and go with Blake.

Is it certain SVG still thinks this?
We were 17-14 and the 6th/7th seed most of the year w/o him. Since then we have been 10-13 w/ him and are now 9th, and the team is a mess (4-8 in our last 12).
It would be hard for Stan to argue he is giving us a better chance at the playoffs right now.
In which case, trading him for anything (even another expiring contract at a different position that might help more) should now be considered, if it wasn't before. Especially with no Meeks now. If we could deal him for another shooter off the bench we should do it.

I so no. Just because he's not raised his value enough. If we remain playoff relevant, he's got more value to us, then whatever we could get selling low

I don't think he will be dealt. Not because we aren't willing to move him but because we won't get anything that would actually help in return. The cap space we get from letting him walk will likely be worth more than some meh player on a longer deal that we get in return. Now if SVG can do what he did to OKC and Phoenix last year then something might happen. Outside of the other Morris I don't see anybody that a team is desperate to get rid of.

I kinda want him to. I didn't want him to when he came back, but just seems somethings off. Could be KCP missing them games, not sure. They were some good teams we lost to. Wouldn't really care either way tho

This is a question that I can't confidently answer. The way SVG thinks regarding player personnel isn't anywhere near my realm of thinking.
I will say this; if Van Gundy allows Jennings to remain on the team, it will be amusing to watch how Reggie Jackson will react... when Brandon has good days and digging into his starter's minutes. By the end of the season it might just be considered a Stan snafu.

I'd trade him for Larkin or Galloway straight up if possible. I think either makes us better in the present and would be good young/cheap longterm solutions.

I don't know. I don't think it's like that. I think it's about value and we know what we're getting with Jennings. We'll find out in the deadline.

Jennings probably won't get moved considering there aren't a lot of deals out there that can actually benefit us. I see us letting him just expire and Stan probably staying with him instead of having to rely on Steve Blake the rest of the season. If we somehow do make the playoffs, I'd imagine Jennings will be needed as a spark once he conditions up a bit.

There's too many factors to consider why we've been on this losing streak. I can't lay the blame on one person and that includes the starters.
I still primarily blame our offensive schemes. It's awful and others here have pointed it out.

If we make the playoffs, RJ will probably be playing 40mpg so maybe we don't need much of a backup.

I don't see us moving him, but just because I don't see a mutually beneficial deal coming along that compels us to trade him. I'm not opposed to it anymore, since I'm convinced he won't be back next year, just don't think it will happen.

i dont think we get a deal for him we take and i think we lose him for nothing in the offseason.
