Jennings appreciation thread

Post#1 » by dVs33 » Wed Feb 17, 2016 12:55 am

As I mentioned before, I'm gonna miss Jennings. He brought a lot of fun to Detroit and he changed a lot of people's minds around here.
detroit bad boys did a nice farewell, so I'm just gonna link it here.

All the best Brandon!

Glad this is a thread.

I'm proud of Jennings the man during his time here. He transformed from a pouty little me-first malcontent into a legit leader and teammate. Some guys never do.

I don't know how much career he has left -- it depends on the level of his full recovery -- but I'll always be a fan.

Underrated, I was a bit ticked when I heard he was gone but we got tobias so it had to happen.

Glad he was able to change under SVG, we'll always have that Pre-ACL run

Hope he finds happiness on and off the court
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Wishing him all the best. Such a great player. Always admired his chaotic style. A real shame we traded him. One of the reasons I became a fan of this team. Hope he finds a good landing spot in the off-season.

Jennings had an amazing run before his achilles gave out, but before that stretch of games he was public enemy #2 on this board right after Josh Smith. I appreciate him for inspiring our team last year and proving during that stretch that we could win games if we all bought into SVG and now I appreciate him even more for allowing us to land Harris.

Jennings wishing you all the best! true professional and baller. Though he wore a Detroit pistons for 2 seasons, he most definitely was a detroit type player .

I loved his flashy style while playing here and I'll never forget those 12 games where he went **** ham.
I hope he just needs more time to get closer to 100% rather then being capped at like 70% or whatever you would say he has been. I hope he has good luck in Orlando or wherever he signs in the offseason (La? ;) )

I hated Jennings as much as anyone when we traded for him but man have I completely changed my opinion. He was just as important as SVG and Josh Smith for our revival last year watching him crumble to the floor from that freak injury was heart breaking. I love Jennings and hope he doesn't take this trade as an insult. If we ever get the chance to bring him back I wouldn't hesitate to welcome him. I hope he gets back to being the player he was for us last year and has a great career, just not too great because I don't want the Magic competing with us for the playoffs

I wasn't a big fan of his game. He had his moments where he could be entertaining but he was more of a negative on both sides of the ball during his time here. He was a great teammate and person in his time here and I genuinely felt like he wanted to be here as well so much respect for that and hopefully now he can get healthy and prove he's matured all around as a player like I believe he has.

I have always hated him. I hope he fails and ends up Europe.

watch him become a beast again in Orlando. Think we should have traded someone else than Jennings

The game against the Spurs where he hit the game winner will always be one of my favorite piston games ever. We were down big in the 4th quarter, and to get a steal with a few seconds left against an elite team like that and then win at the buzzer? It was such a great moment and I looked like an idiot running around my house screaming in joy (the way the bench was).

The winning streak post-smith in general will always be very memorable. I've never seen our board mored hyped and active than it was during those few weeks. Jennings was a true piston, loved his attitude and will miss seeing him play here. Wish he had never gotten injured.

he's a good player as long as he becomes a permanent 2 guard. He's worthless elsewhere

Jennings really changed my mind about him. Was not a fan when we traded for him (although I hated Knight's game as well). I wish him the best, and I'm happy that it seemed to enjoy himself here.

Jennings really grew on me while he was here. I'm sorry to see him go, though I'm thrilled with the return and I'd much rather lose him this way than for nothing in the offseason. Plus I'm a huge fan of Tobias Harris.

Good times in Detroit Jennings, but after Dumars left folks knew you were going to get traded. I hope you stay healthy out there in Florida man. Good luck!

Yep he's worthless out there tbh. People put too much stock into him saving our season

Could you please clear this up, 'cuz I'm really having trouble following your logic — you think we should have traded someone other than the guy you called "worthless?" Or did Jennings show you so much in the last 18 days that you did a 180 on your opinion?

I mean, it's either that or you're just a toll disguised as a pessimist, right?

I think it's pretty clear what Maker is at this point.
