4, otherwise BPA. If we feel there is no clear BPA by a clear margin, draft for need.

I concur.

BPA - always. Unless of course someone is just giving away a high quality player for a mediocre draft pick. That rookie scale contract is so valuable and will be even more so as the cap explodes.

This
It's hard to speculate on trading it this early when we don't know what's available

If Stan actually ends up drafting a player with that pick something has gone horribly wrong.
There is no way that pick is ever used by Detroit.

100% agree. This league is short on talent at the wings (especially at the 3). Wouldn't surprise me to see Marcus or KCP and our first moved for...PF? SG? Mainly because Stanley slots in wherever there is an opening and Tobias can play 3/4.
This is only in a no-brainer deal obviously. If we go BPA, I'm all for that.

I voted for BPA. But I would like to trade for an upgrade among veteran depth. 2nd round i think kay felder would be a good call

Trade with existing player. We don't need more 20 yr olds. We've already got our young project with Stanley and he actually has star potential. Don't need another young project who commands minutes and takes years just to develop into a role player.

A 4 that can intimidate in the paint and shoot.
For the PG I'd prefer a young vet that has proven he can run a team.

Yeah, I'd love to hear your logic for that. Given our cap situation, I think if there's a player who can fill a need, we should take them.

Draft a backup center/PF
use it in a trade+pieces to acquire a ready now PF/C

SVG has done a great job managing our cap - trading away a super cheap role player isn't the wisest move

If Stan can find another Harris or Montiejunas type player he can trade the Pick for packaged or not, Stan will pull the trigger. A player who has been in the league a few years can help now as opposed to a rookie who most likely won't be ready for a few years.

We need to find a nice PF that can defend and occasionally shoot it. Maybe a PF/C.

Given Stans recent history he is looking for one final "big piece".That first rounder is going to be used in a trade I absolutely garuantee it.

I'd be OK moving the pick in a trade. I'm not super impressed with the prospects in this draft class, but I understand that it's not as easy as snapping your fingers and picking up another young vet who can help right now. So if we keep the pick, which I think is the most likely scenario, I say bpa regardless of position.
