our first game of the nine-game home stand is against a tough opponent, win here is huge.

injury news: dinwiddie has been cleared to play which means that everyone is healthy for the first time in ever. doubt he plays though (like meeks). splitter is still out for the hawks but other than that they're good to go.

we are good at home (19-11 record) but atlanta is a good road team - they're one of only 8 teams in the league that is .500 or above on the road. atlanta is 17-17.

go pistons!

this is a crucial game and could make the difference between an average homestand (5-4 or 6-3) and a huge homestand (7-2 or better)

I really do believe in matchups. For example we usually play well against Chicago. Just look at Drummond's stats against them. But we usually play badly against Toronto. Chicago has beaten Toronto 3 times this year. We've lost to Washington 3 times but they're under 500. In this game I think we match up well against Atlanta but I don't think there's any mismatches going to either side. It's all about who wins the boards in this one. Hawks are better now than they were before the All Star break. Pistons need to come out with a sense of urgency and execute. This is a big game to win here.

speaking of matchups it's going to be interesting to see how harris and morris handle millsap. i remember ilyasova getting torched by him.

We can do well against Atlanta but their point guards usually dominate Reggie. If he plays lazy D and poor strategy (like going over screens and letting them penetrate) then both pgs will scramble our defense and have a field day feeding their teammates open jump shots.

This is going to be a test of SVG's strategy. Is he going to keep treating penetrating pgs like Steph & Damian Lillard? or is he going to switch to the appropriate strategy?

Well they're in the same division as Orlando so I'm sure they've played against each other a lot. Harris is more athletic than Ilyasova (obviously) so he shouldn't be the one torching us. Teague and Schroeder though. It'll be interesting to see what happens with them.

The time is now for this team to step up, or step aside. Big home stand, playoffs on the line? Do they want to play? Stay tuned...

A win tonight will likely result in 5 straight wins, as the next 4 home games are against Sac, Bkn, Mil, and Orl.

Atlanta is playing solid basketball lately, especially defensively. This won't be an easy game.

Jodie Meeks inactive tonight because he took a hard screen at practice. His quote "I have a ouchie boo boo on my shoulder"

What a clown and waste of money. He is living the dream life. 14 mill to sit on his butt.

Why are the Hawks still playing so hard. I thought the team made it clear to all the players that they wanted to blow it all up and start over.I doubt that Teague, Horford, or even Millsap will be on this team next year.

Anyways, I hope we win impressively enough to convince Horford to sign with us during the offseason.

Because they are professionals and are paid well to do a job.

This form of thinking has yet to click with our young squad.

Normally I would say Atlanta will kick our butts - they are a solid team. But, since we just got our asses kicked in Washington, maybe we get our mojo back and get this win.
