final game of regular season likely to be preview of first playoff game

Post#1 » by AnnArborpiston » Sat Mar 26, 2016 1:19 pm

How does this dynamic play out in our final game of the season? Could Cleveland intentionally lose to bump us to 7th and avoid us? (who would they rather play? Indiana or Detroit?) Could they go all out to intimidate us before the playoffs? I haven't been able to wrap my head around how this could play out. Interesting dichotomy.

They probably don't fear us and will rest their players

I'd rather play against Detroit than a team that has Paul George in the playoffs lol

Yeah, if anything they would play to avoid the alternatives. Pretty nice when you can just foul a team's star until he is pulled from the game.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Cavs don't have an answer for Drummond. Paul George can be shut down if you put Lebron on him. Nobody can stop Drummond except for the FT line

i expect cleveland to rest their players on the last game of the season no matter who they're matched up against.

which would bode well for us :D

Pistons should rest their players in the last game if Cleveland does.

If it is impossible for us to move up or down in the standings, I agree 100%. I would imagine both teams would if they had that scenario.

Raptors Pistons more likely will happen.

Because Pacers are getting 8th.

Honestly if Pistons win tonight, fans should be looking towards 6th seed.
