Post ASB Records: DET 6th best in East

I took a closer look at the records for the 10 East teams in the playoff hunt, and noticed Detroit has the 6th best record since after the All-Star Break. Below are the ten teams ranked by winning percentage:
1. CHA: 16-5 (.762)
2 (tie). MIA: 14-6 (.700)
2 (tie). ATL: 14-6 (.700)
4. TOR: 14-7 (.667)
5. CLE: 14-8 (.636)
6. DET: 13-8 (.619)
7. BOS: 11-8 (.579)
8. WAS: 13-10 (.565)
9. IND: 11-10 (.524)
10. CHI: 10-12 (.455)
What's remarkable is how competitive the East has been this entire season, even after the All-Star Break. 9 of these 10 teams have had winning records post ASB, and CHI has stayed fairly close to .500.
Detroit has been playing well since acquiring Tobias Harris. Even if they end up with the 8th or 7th seed, their record post-ASB is not much different from CLE and TOR. The disparity between the 3rd and 6th seeds will be even smaller.
6
If DET ends up with the 7th seed, I really think they have a shot at beating Toronto. The would certainly be an underdog, but it wouldn't be a typical 2 vs. 7th seed matchup.

sixth place, technically. it should go: 1, 2 (tie), 2 (tie), 4, 5, 6, etc.
anyways, there's no doubt we've been playing better since we acquired tobias. when you look at what to expect in the playoffs, look at post-ASB records more than full-season records. that gets a little skewed when teams rest players but it doesn't take away from the fact that charlotte, miami and atlanta all have realistic shots at winning the conference, just like we would have a chance at winning in the first round.

With Harris starting they have a .684 winning percentage.
13-6. This team is good but lacking in experience.
You have to look at in context and in context this team is a sleeper in the playoffs big time.

I agree. It's still a big unknown how this team will perform in a playoff series, but given their recent level of play and having a coach with playoff success, they certainly have the capability of being a sleeper.
A Raptors/Pistons matchup would be more akin to a 3 v. 6 seed matchup as opposed to a 2 v. 7th seed. There's a 10 game win gap between those two teams. In comparison, there's currently a 13 game difference between the 3rd and 6th seeds in the west (OKC v POR).

Very impressed with this young squad. Should be a 50 win team next year with a full season of this squad and some bench upgrades.

sleeper team.
This confirms why i don't fear Cleveland or Toronto but I don't want to face Charlotte or Atl first round.
I think we match up well with Miami too though...
If they continue to turn up the defense, there's no limits to how far they can go in THIS years playoffs.

I absolutely agree.
The only record that matters is how the Pistons played with Tobias Harris as a starting member of the Pistons. The only other thing that matters is experience.
The Pistons have a great winning% with Harris as a starter (.684) but will only have 26 games to come together as a team and very little playoff experience as a group or individuals.
This is a damn good team as contructed. Lets see how far just having talent takes them.

Suprised Boston has fell off. They have been been consistently underrated, that record looks like a slump for them
