I LOVED that Celtics PG called Rajon Rondo. Have you seen at least one Kings game this year? He's a shame for the player he was.

First to come to mind is Melo.

He gets the superstar treatment, yet his team hasnt made the playoffs for a few years...

In Melo's defense, he has never had a decent squad with the Knicks. Just take a look at the talent that NY has surrounded him with the past couple years, its pretty awful:

2015-16: Porzingis, ????, ???, ????, ????
2014-15: Shane Larkin, Iman Shumpert, Amar’e Stoudemire, Samuel Dalembert
2013-14: Raymond Felton, Iman Shumpert, Pablo Prigioni, Tyson Chandler
2012-13: Jason Kidd, Raymond Felton, Ronnie Brewer, Tyson Chandler
2011-12: Toney Douglas, Landry Fields, Amar’e Stoudemire,Tyson Chandler
2010-11: Chauncey Billups, Landry Fields, Amar’e Stoudemire, Ronny Turiaf

Love
Parsons
Ariza
Monta Ellis
Jordan Clarkson

Nice starting 5...all can put up good numbers on their day...I doubt the impact they really have on games.

You could plug a number of other players into their spots at their current locations and get similar numbers but have a "better" team.

Regular season games or games that actually matter? Because I'd put Lebron on a list of the latter. Outside of his dream team down in Miami, he's been stuffing stat sheets since he came into the league, but hasn't been able to win anything. And any excuse for a lack of talent around him doesn't hold water with me.

It's pretty easy to construct a list of such players, as they all have at least some of the following characteristics:

1) Weak defensively, especially in a team context
2) Can't make anything but a simple pass
3) No leadership ability, often playing for themselves
4) Soft, as in one hard foul takes them off their game
5) Play style takes others out of rhythm (iso-ball)
6) Difficult personality, creating rifts with teammates or management

Monroe: 1, 3, 4, 5
Carmelo: 1, 3, 5
Love: 1, 3, 4
Cousins: 3, 4, 5, 6
Rondo: 3, 4, 6
Harden: 1, 3, 5, 6

Another classic was Adrian Dantley -- 1, 2, 3, 5, 6

I wouldn't say Melo is a stat player, he's a volume and sometimes inefficient scorer, but he's a Top-15 player ever in PPG.

Some of his lack of success is obviously his fault, he's never been good involving his teammates, but he always have played in average teams and even when he has got good teammates wasn't a team where he was a good fit.

For put in perspective, LeBron has carried mediocre teams, but they were players who fit great in his game.

Kinda a weird thread. Monroe doesn't put up empty stats. It's not like he's lighting it up. He's the #46 scorer in the league. Nobody looks at 15 ppg and says "man, that guy's team should be winning a lot more games with a scorer like that!"

You could look a boxscore of a 20-10-3 Monroe's game and think he played well. Then, when you watch the game, you see how he ruins all his team defensive system defending the pick n roll like he was a 80 years old granny.

And yes, I think Love is maybe the king of those players.

^We wouldn't be in the playoffs at the moment without Andre. 16/15 on a playoff team is far from empty.
