Seth Curry?

He's likely going to be an UFA this summer and could be a perfect fit to fill our backup PG spot. He's been playing like a mini-Steph the last few weeks, and while its' a small sample, on the season he is 48% FG and 48% 3FG. Someone on the GB said Karl calls him their best on-ball defender too. He's only 25 so he'd fit right in with our core age-wise, and having a Curry in our core (even if the lesser one) is definitely intriguing to me. Especially since he's young enough to still to improve and Stan is great at developing PGs. I read that Dell actually thinks he could end up the better shooter of the two. Which is probably crazy, but I think it could be a low risk/high reward opportunity worth taking a chance on, vs going with another temporary fix retread like Aaron Brooks or Augustin type guy.
Maybe this will end up like the NBAs version of Peyton/Eli.
Here's some of his recent games:

He's intriguing with his shooting and instant offense. But I'm not sure about his defense since I would rather have a defensive backup and Karl saying that doesn't mean much, since his team sucks on defense. All in all I wouldn't be mad if we got him.

Never trust a player abilities with a small sample. He's supposed to be a good shooter, is in his ADN, but he needs to prove he's going to be a reliable threat from downtown.

His shooting is really not a small sample though. He's taken 101 three's in the NBA and made 48 of them (47.5%). In college he took 6 per game over his 4 yr career and made 39% of them. He's never not been a good shooter. Add in the fact that he has the genes of 2 of the best shooters all-time, and I think it's a situation where you give him the benefit of the doubt there and take a calculated gamble.
What is most intriguing about him as a potential fit here is that his shooting would allow him to play with Reggie and not just as his backup. He could be the perfect court spacer for Reggie to outlet to off the pick & roll on offense, and on defense (if his on-ball D is as advertised) he could guard PGs and Reggie guard the bigger SGs.
I think he could be that long-term 6th man combo-guard/scorer/playmaker off the bench that we've needed.

He's shot just under 48% from downtown over the course of 43 games this season. I'd hardly call it a small sample size, and even if its slightly higher than what he would shoot on average playing significant minutes over the course of a full 82 game season, it's 48% man. Even if he fell as much as 8% that still makes him an elite three point shooter. I have absolutely zero doubts about his shooting ability. He's a Curry after all.
Count me in on going after him. His playmaking and handle are actually really underrated; a lot of people see him as an undersized 2 but I legitimately believe he has the vision and handle to be a very good back up PG.

Very surprised SVG didn't take a flyer on him this offseason. We all know he can shoot, SVG loves shooters.

He's not shooting even 2 3 pointers per game. Yeah he's supposed to be reliable and his % prove it, but that shot is the only thing he got, if he regress at some point you got a dead money.

Seth Curry has been a great player this whole time just nobody noticed?
Seth Curry's been this good he just decided to produce?
I'd take a look at Seth, but i'd also be cautiously optimistic

Considering he's never shot under 38% at Duke or in the NBA, that's a bet I'd take given what little money he will probably command. There is risk in all FAs.

Or he took longer to adjust to the NBA and now his game is starting to come together.

The irony is impalpable isn't it? I love linguistics and reading cognitive dissonance, but this is too much.

Sign him for sure but I bet a lot of teams throw huge money at him. Might actually end up too expensive.... There will be hype.

Yeah. Also this is the first time he has been given consistent starter minutes in the NBA. He DOMINATED the NBDL like Steph does the NBA, almost exactly statistically, and so far those shooting percentages (not the rest) are translating to the next level. He looks great too, on film, in the NBA playing against starting NBA talents. The Kings are also winning (6-4).
He is a safe bet to be a great guard off the bench for us and a definite upgrade from Blake if we can sign him.
