Who's going to pull an upset in the first round and why?

Charlotte over Miami.

Blazers over Clips, as to the why, combination hunch and lack of faith in the Clippers.

The 3/6 and 4/5 East matchups could easily go either way since all four of those teams had the same record. I have the Hornets beating the Heat in 7 games, but expect the Hawks to advance to the second round.

As for the West, I don't expect any upsets throughout the whole playoffs, especially in the first round. Barring any unforeseen injuries, the top 4 seeds will all advance, but I could see the Blazers winninng a few against the Clips.

Detroit Versus Everybody or GTFO!!!!!!!

I chose Pacers over Raptors - the Pacers have Paul George, good defense and a lot of battle tested players. The Raptors rely on a ton of guard scoring, and their coach gets exposed every playoff series he's ever participated in. I thought about the Hornets, but Dwayne Wade's involved. I also thought about the Celtics, but I still think that roster can't win a series. Out west, I think the Warriors, Spurs and Thunder all sweep, and I give one game to the Blazers over LA.

I know I'll be mocked,but I believe we can beat this cave team.especially after getting Meeks back.we have the better bench,our team are actually a team and each player likes seeing the other succeed, we have the youth (but that could also be a negative, experience) and we have shown when we have come out firing with a lot of energy,we can beat anyone.You heard it here 1st.

hornets over heat, celtics over hawks, and blazers over clippers. those six teams are all fairly close. the ladder likely wont happen. to me an upset would be a series like ours.

Indiana over Toronto: Toronto could have trouble reintegrating Carroll. Also, they haven't had any playoff success yet. Indiana, on the other hand, has a star and coach who have been there before.

I wouldn't call the EC 3v6 or 4v5 upsets at all because they all tied.

I see Detroit over Cleveland as a remote possibility. We have proven we match up well against them and SVG can coach circles around Lue. Still, it would take LeBron going into one of his emo passive-aggressive stints for a series win to be possible.

Stats and regular season vs win totals don't matter once it's against playoff Lebron. The guy might shoot worse like last year, but he will WILL his team against any to the finals. Not even 538 (a hugely statistical driven site) doesn't even account for Lebron showing up for the playoffs.

But this year is as good as any for an upset though.

I think raps wrap it up in 5. Idk why but just think it's finally their time. I could be way wrong tho I love George. Turner and Ellis might be able to do some damage too. Dont forget about stuckey lol

I wouldn't have minded facing the Raptors. You contain their backcourt just a little bit, and it looks like you win. PG13 was great winning the game for them.

KCP locks down Lowry, Morris on DD if KCP can't, and RJ on whoever their 3 and D forward is. Would've been an easy coaching win for SVG IMO.

One Lebron twisted ankle from round two.
