This season was a failure

You can't get swept in the first round of the playoffs when this team was supposed to be a 4 or 5 seed talent. So many things were wrong with this team mostly starting with Stan Van Gundy being a lousy post season coach.

Players like Steve Blake, Aron Baynes, Anthony Tolliver should not even be on NBA rosters yet they call Detroit home. This roster has no playmakers outside of KCP and his shooting can be streaky sometimes and yes Reggie is NOT a play maker, he was EXPOSED by Cleveland in this series. He could never provide us big buckets when we needed them.

We really needed to add Joe Johnson or Markieff Morris and we didn't do it.

Reggie had 12 assist! How is he not a playmaker? We shot 50%+++++ (Edit: Okay we finished at 48.6%, but above 50% until last couple plays)
DEFENSE, offensive rebounding, and rotations were the issue.

i expect playmakers to be able to give your team points in big moments. The best point guards are all scoring point gaurds

Why is this guy even allowed to post here, his posts have no substance at all, no stats, no research, no effort. He's said on numerous occasions he HATES this team, surely that's grounds to say his posts are baiting and/or trolling

Tonight he was in full force. What he usually does is bad, but tonight was OVERBOARD. Literally every 3rd post was Maker trolling, he should be banned for game 4 at least.

1 game suspension assessed to Maker and fine him -100 And 1s please :D

If I remember correctly, snakebites stated that they don't want to ban someone for having a different opinion.

Of course imo, I think what maker posts is more on the lines of baiting. I think he posts negative things simply to get a reaction out of other posters. Which is why I have him on my ignore list, and I would suggest anyone that agrees with me to do the same.

Problem being when he starts a thread or worse gets quoted. Do mods ever rotate?

We need the mods to take care of this troll. It's inciting and baiting. Our fans have done everything we can to ignore him yet they do nothing to address the issue. I say we start going to global mods since ours are apparently incompetent.

My problem is that is goes beyond a different opinion, it's clearly derailing. He tried to derail every thread he posts in and makes the game threads unbearable

Our mods are good. They are generally hands off and don't intervene when it's not necessary. If you post/read the GB for example, you'll see that some mods on realgm (including global mods) post with a sense of self importance as if their opinions are always more accurate than anyone else's and will discipline posters for the most trivial, insignificant things.

As a matter of a fact I once got banned for claiming Wilt's 100 point game was overrated in a thread titled "something about wilt's 100 point game". A mod felt that it was off-topic. They could just ban maker (I would), but I think everybody adding him to their ignore list & disregarding threads/quotes is just as effective. Trolling isn't satisfying when nobody gives you any sort of reply.

Your right about those players who shouldn't be here but adding kief or jj wouldn't have helped this series. Miami has a higher iq than our team so jj can fit right in whereas our team still doesn't have a identity.

Kcp will hit a shot them baynes gets the next shot attempt. Dre will have a good post up and we go away from him. Blake being Blake. Cleveland knows what their trying to do each possession and they know to continue to feed whoever the
hot hand is.

That said, i wouldn't call it a complete failure, but ill say we brought some of the disappointing moments on ourselves. We got into the playoffs without a true power foward and a garbage backup center and steve blake playing 10+ minutes. At the same time, our starters were playing heavy minutes.

Going foward, i think after somehow getting the atrocious 3 (blake, baynes, tolliver) outta town, we need to make decisions on Dinwiddie and meeks. Id personally like to keep meeks and let Spence walk.

Next, i think we look at the draft and, and again my opinion, we take the best power foward available, that way we have assurance just in case no top pf wants to come to detroit (such as gasol, Anderson, or horford). We still have to max out dre so getting the pf via draft saves money that can be spent at other positions.

And starting lineup wise, I think its time to switch morris with Johnson. Johnson can help move the ball faster and he is a better defender than morris. Maybe not on bron, but overall better defender. And don't mistake me either, im not dissing morris. I think if morris was with the 2nd unit, itd vastly improve our bench. Morris wants to iso anyway, so might as well throw him in with the lineup that literally struggles to create shots. Johnson has shown these playoffs that he could shoot jumpers and hes barely getting min all year. I think we should unleash him next year. Playing efficient like he was in summer league.

Ps: we could really use nerlens noels defense. Him and baynes and night and day. Fleece Philly

And once again Maker gets the attention he wants.

You guys gotta look at the situation differently IMO.

We ALL know what Maker is doing, Mods included. Yet some still wanna play the game by his rules.

Why?

We ALL know he's trolling so why take the bait?

Gotta be the dumbest fish ever to see a lure, KNOW it's a lure, swallow it and then when your face to face with the fisherman say "Why did you catch me?"

Isn't it enough to know he can't post with a modicum of logic, reasoning, or sanity? We're doing charity work here - watching over him a couple hours a week to give his mom and caretakers a well-deserved break.

We're gonna be in the next NBA Cares commercial. You wait and see.

Seriously about time this guy gets a ban from the Pistons board for some period of time. 100% nonstop garbage is getting old and we're going to start losing quality posters that are tired of the BS he's constantly spewing.
