Wow, great thread. Really though provoking

Weaknesses: Body strength remains a concern as he lacks great ability to absorb contact ... Gets bumped off of his path/spots and too easily ... As a junior, he is still very light so he will probably always be on the thin side ... Shot selection can still be an issue at times, though vastly improved ... Has a tendency to try to do too much on offense instead of deferring to his teammates when necessary ... Mechanics on jump shot aren't great and his jumper is a little flat ... Entry passes to the post aren't great and doesn't look there enough, whether naturally or by design ... Still doesn't necessarily make his teammates better all the time as he looks to score before all else ... Came in college with some off court concerns but has matured by all accounts ...

Overall: Improved tremendously from his freshman to junior years ... His speed and handles make him an NBA prospect at the PG position ... An ever improving jump shot that will go a long way towards his success at the next level ... Very even keeled player that rarely gets too emotional on the court ... Great physical tools and decent athleticism, although not a great one on one defender ... Projected as an early to mid second round prospect and climbing ...

No thanks. We've already got this in our starting point guard. We need a natural, pass-savy floor general, preferably with some size, who can also shoot/score some and play some D as our 2nd point guard if we're keeping RJ as our 1st. A Shaun Livingston, for instance, would be nice. Dinwiddie could fit the bill if he had a touch more quickness (his injury could have affected it) and shot it a bit better.

Stan wants someone mature to run the show, so we are not drafting a PG. I just can see the case of drafting Ulis because he is really mature and has a great understanding of the game.

We will draft a PF or we'll trade the pick.

We know that that we need a PF that can defend big PFs but you cannot put that responsability in a rookie.

Also, Stan doesn't like this draft, he said clearly after our failure of getting Motiejunas.

Probably we'll trade our pick+Meeks for a big PF. If not, Ulis, Deyonta and Sabonis are the most likely.

We absolutely will NOT get a PG rookie this draft unless a really good prospect falls to us. We NEED a veteran backup PG as much as any team out there does. I fully expect us to draft a PF to come off the bench and sign a veteran guard in the offseason. Next season I see us being a Top 5 seed with a legitimate chance to win the first round and get a shot at the Eastern Conference Finals.

I'm really hoping we can net someone like Jimmy Butler type player that goes totally unnoticed even though he has the mental makeup and physical tools. Otherwise, I'm down with getting a physical specimen for the 4 spot that's a pure stretch 4ish type guy.

Agree. I want our PGs to already know what they're doing. With that being said, I want a starting PF or at least a backup.

I'm on record as saying I'd prefer a veteran backup pg. The position takes too long to learn and for as many young guys as we have that is a tough spot to try and fill with a rook. That said, IF we did draft a PG I'd want a lockdown defender over somebody who can actually shoot or pass. Somebody who could be a change of pace when Reggie is getting lit up. Some people where hoping that would be Dinwiddie, but hasn't quite happened. We need more of a Lindsey Hunter type at 18.

I'm telling yal Petr Cornelie is the way to go. 7 footer with a pure stroke that is agile and catch lobs. This guy is perfect for this team.

I want Skal at #18. I'd rather sign a PG in FA.

Ugly ass freshman season and all, Skal will still go top 8. Teams are high on his potential, even if his body is at least two years away. He'll look great in solo workouts, too.

i doubt we stay at 18, we will either trade for a vet or trade up, we have clear needs now, time to fill them.

There's still some potential at 18 with guys like Ulis, Skal, Davis, Sabonis, Baldwin etc.. If we want a more young legged PG with upside Ulis would be best case scenario. If we want a 4 that best compliments Drummond then Skal would be best case. If we want a defensive 4/5 to back up our starters then Davis is best case.

My guess is that we'll trade the pick, but if we keep it, I vote we draft the best three point shooter regardless of position. That's where the league is headed.....

Exactly this. I would love to get someone who can come in and be a defensive stopper, we have other guys who could initiate the offense if need be, I want someone who brings something that Reggie does not. Notanoob has me salivating over the idea of Gary Payton Jr.

Want a Lindsey Hunter type, look at Gary Payton II. Man, Peyton, KCP and Stanley would be lockdown perimeter defense!
