Ancient history, can't be undone, and he's not coming back. Not much to discuss.

Another case of Stan's mismanagement/misjudgement of his bench.

He's not that good, are you basing this off of 1 good game?

Which game? He's been playing well for the Celts for months. Certainly a better player than Tolliver, and to trade him for Prince was just stupid.

No, he hasn't. He averaged 4.4 ppg for the season. He's a solid enough player, but he's not much better than Tolliver, and he's more expensive, I'm pretty sure.

This is not worth lamenting. I'm pretty sure we'll replace Tolliver this off-season anyway.

When that trade went down, Jerebko had fallen out of the rotation. I always assumed that Jerebko and Stan were beefing - so Stan just got rid of the guy.

It wasnt about beef between a player and a coach - it was about JJs role.

SVG didn't see a role for Jerebko in this system so moved him for a vet with defensive capabilities. The fact Tay had ties here was a coincidence but surely helped.

Keeping JJ not only doesn't help us it hurts him as a player!

Why would any organization worth anything keep someone just for the hell of it?

41% FG on the season
37.5% FG in the playoffs
Pretty underwhelming.

Yeah it was a dumb move to trade for Prince but it's pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. I have 0 interest in Jonas Jerebko on this team.

The Pistons made the playoffs with a 44-38 record after a 32-50 season. If a 12 game improvement from year to year is the norm, I'll take that "mismanagement" all day long.

Jerebko asked for the trade. We needed some sf depth. It made sense.
I'm happy he's doing well in Boston. He did some great things here for a bit, but it wasn't a good fit in the end.

Jerebko's played well the past couple of games but long-term he doesn't move the needle much.

I'd rather have each of Morris - Harris - Baynes. Jerebko's cap hold last summer was $8.5 mil, I might be misremembering our cap situation, but I think it would have been hard to get all 3 of Morris/Baynes/Illy with $8.5 mil from Jonas sitting on the books.

As much as i would love to have "Poop" back . The fact that this board associated a turd with his play is probably a good indication it wouldn't have worked out here. Furthermore JJ's problem is and always has been defense in which physically he's limited. I'd much rather be talking about AMir Johnson than Poop

Meh. Hes a good bench player who fell out of the rotation and got traded. His numbers aren't amazing. So, meh.

He sucked for a few seasons while he was here so I don't blame SVG for trading him. Tay was a weak return, but I didn't really think Jerebko had much value while he was here anyways.

First of all, I don't see any mismanagement at all by SVG. We don't have any "bad" contracts anymore (Meeks would be the closest to that, but his last year will look like a steal with the new free agency). I recall Jerebko also asked for a trade since he wasn't going to get a significant role. So getting rid of him was good. Getting Prince for a few months for him was no big deal either way (and bad for Prince personally who wanted to go to a playoff team).

Regardless, if you look at our team, and if we want it to get to the next level, we need quality starters and a quality bench. We're getting closer, but I don't even know if Harris is a starter for an elite team. I'd much rather have him, SJ, Baynes, a new backup PG, and maybe Meeks come off the bench. Maybe we should be looking for a starting PF rather than just a backup? Tolliver can still be out 3rd string PF. I just don't see how Jerebko would fit here anymore.

this is a thread

JJ was what he was and is what he is and getting rid of him was no loss at all. Not like SVG decided to toss Middleton in to a trade for no good reason.

This is the Pistons board. Some random guy (former piston), then we have to hear about how it was a mistake to get rid of him. Some random guy (so-so player waived by not-Pistons), becomes how great would be here.

Other categories, but those seem to be two popular ones of late.
