Caris LeVert

So it turns out he has a "Jones fracture", which is the same thing Durant had, so it is pretty obvious that you can recover 100% from it. At one point, he was a fringe lottery player. I don't think I would use #18 on him, but if we could get a late first, early second pick and get him, I think he could be a steal. Since I think we have more Spartans than Wolverines on this board, go ahead and tell me how stupid this is

He's full of potential but looks like damaged goods. I wouldn't mind him with a 2nd rounder but we would have to move up from ours cause I couldn't see him lasting that long.

That's about what I figure as well. An early 2nd rounder could get us first round talent.

I think LeVert is better than Stauskas was coming out. His durability concerns are pretty big though so his draft stock is tough to evaluate. Even as a Spartan fan I wouldn't mind Detroit trading up a bit from their 2nd round pick to get him. Not sure what it would take though. Hilliard maybe? I'm a fan of his but if the plan is to target LeVert there's isn't much room for him on the roster.

I'm with coordinator0. I really wouldn't mind LeVert especially if we could trade back and maybe even net an asset along with our mid-tier(ish) 1st round pick.

I would rather take a chance on him than draft Valentine.

To be clear I wouldn't want LeVert to be Detroit's top draft pick. That's a bit risky for my tastes so moving back from 18 to target him wouldn't be my choice of options. Getting him after taking somebody at 18 (or at least trading the pick for a veteran) would be great though.

Can someone post a link to his Draft Express profile?
If he's likely to be the best player available in 3 years I'd be happy for us to take him at 18.

I think Detroit would use their own pick or drop down less than 6 spots to be able to take him.

Hope 76ers fall in love with somebody on the board when we're on the clock and get an offer of #18 and #49 to Philly for for #24 and #26.

I like Caris a lot, but I'm on edge about his injury history.
Patrick McCaw is essentially a younger, injury-free version of Caris and should be available in the same range. McCaw isn't as developed or NBA ready like LeVert is, but he's a 6'7", lanky guard who can dribble, pass and shoot well. He'll need some seasoning but he has great upside.

If he's there at 49, why not? I wouldn't dare use a first round pick on him.

There was even a version of this posted by a Philly fan in Lamb's thread on the T&T board that had MEM trading #17 & Adams/Vince for #24, #26 & Covington. I'd kill to take MEM's place in that trade; winding up with one of Maker or Bentil at #24, LeVert at #26, and Covington would be an amazing haul on draft night, IMHO.

I used to be all about homer draft picks. Now I'm almost the exact opposite. I'd rather miss on a home grown kid, than be blinded by their local ties, as seems to happen far too often.

So even though we don't really need a SG as bad as we need a backup PG and backup PF, it would still be tempting to pull the trigger on him.

at 18, you try and get some talent. I bet coach is looking for contributors. Not a project guy with potential. The biggest question is health, with LeVert. The ability to hit the three and play multiple positions and going lower than he would have if healthy.

Dude might have potential but I think we trade the pick for immediate help

He said his range is from 18 to 45... interesting.
