Damn. Adam Silver is really gonna allow this to go down now? Completely upstages Game 7 of the Finals. Nobody will even be talking about that now.
Well, Spence, you are now on the same team as the one PG you dominated in a real live game. Best of luck to you.

I guess it doesn't matter cause it's just two scrubs but on a insignificant level I would think the Bulls slightly win this trade if it's possible to win a trade with these two players involved lol.

Per Kevin Pelton:
ESPN Staff Writer
Both Cameron Bairstow (to Detroit) and Spencer Dinwiddie (to Chicago) have non-guaranteed 2016-17 salaries so we'll see if either sticks with their new team after today's trade. I'd handicap Dinwiddie's chances better since the Bulls could use a better backup behind oft-injured Derrick Rose. Chicago also gets more time to decide since Dinwiddie's contract doesn't become partiality guaranteed until the start of the regular season. Bairstow has a July 25 guarantee date, per BasketballInsiders.com.

For some reason I was thinking teams couldn't trade until the Finals were over. What the hell, Dinwiddie wasn't becoming anything for us.

Big white guys from foreign countries are good for ticket sales. Remember Jonas' cheering section? Okur's?

So basically. Pistons were done with Spencer, wanted to see if they could get anything. Traded for a guy that they most likely scouted before they drafted Spencer. Both guys are unguaranteed.
Spencer gets a shot in a most likely rebuilding Chicago. Cameron gets to be on a summer league team/possibly Grand Rapids.

Maybe.... just maybe.... this reduces the chances of the Bulls drafting a point guard, and Baldwin falls to us? Maybe?

Not a surprise. Dinwiddie had to feel slighted with all the talk about the Pistons needing a backup point guard. It's too bad he didn't work out for Detroit, I think just about all of us were happy when they drafted him a couple of years ago. Spencer looked like a completely different player than he did at Colorado after his ACL injury though. A change of scenery might be good for him, but until his shot comes back/other skills develop he doesn't offer much on the floor.
Taking a flyer on Bairstow as a potential cheap big at the end of the roster isn't a terrible idea. But I don't really care if he makes the team or is cut in July.

The more I think about it the more I think this trade was just doing a solid for Spencer and his career going forward because it was clear he had no future here. Especially of he couldn't beat out Blake for time on the floor.

Eh, not much here. Dinwiddie was probably going to be cut anyway and couldn't beat out the corpse of Steve Blake for backup minutes last year. At the worst Bairstow gets waived and nothing changes.

Yes. If/when Detroit drafts a point guard and signs one in free agency there's no room for Dinwiddie. Rather than cutting him outright seeing what Bairstow has to offer makes sense, even if there's a good chance he ultimately ends up being waved anyways. I don't think the Pistons could have gotten anything more for Spencer.

I have to say this trade should put the Piston over the top.
