Regardless of our opinions on Ellenson, we're all rooting for him now as a Piston. Let's get some solid discussion going about him as a prospect and the pros and cons of Detroit taking him.

I didnt really do much research this draft, so I find myself totally without an opinion. Everyone else can have at it though.

He's sorta a healthy Motiejunas... Stan wanted this type of player on our team. Hope it works.

Hey he can shoot...potentially. Not my guy but he looks Decent.

SVG got tunnel vision he had a wet dream about a stretch 5; and could get it out of his mind until he got one. This guy will be terrible on defense looks like he is moving in 3 feet of water.

He's big, he's got that going for him

Sounds like he has potential to be a stretch 4 and backup at C. I like the "potential".

Remember a couple of things:
1: We had the 18th pick this year, not a lottery pick, so we're not getting a starter with the pick.
2: SVG said he will fill our immediate needs through free agency (and trades) and NOT the draft. So this is a development pick.

I don't know enough about him, but on first impressions it's not an ideal fit. He was projected to go much higher and fell to us, so that's pretty I guess.
He's got a Detroit jersey on now so I wish him the best.

The vast majority of my vitriol against Ellenson as a prospect is because I want/wanted the Pistons to add defenders both via the draft and free agency. That's where the team needs to improve the most in my opinion. Henry should be a viable offensive threat as a rotation player but he's the antithesis of what you want in a defender in the NBA today. Not going to be much of a presence at the rim and definitely won't be chasing guys around the perimeter, even in a stretch five role.

Don't know much about him but I hope he ends up playing well for us.

Don't know enough about the Draft this year to comment really...but if his jumper is good then he might just be a compliment to Dre.

We all know we needed a bigger, longer 4 - maybe King Henry can be that guy in 18 months?

Ellenson should be a good fit, young/high energy/upside/touch/athleticism, what's the problem? Doesn't he project to be a less damaged version of Montejunas?
