KCP and Stanley or Morris, (+pick(s)), I assume, would be the base of the package we could offer. Meeks as salary, if necessary.

In short, no. I can't see them moving Butler for anything short of an all-star.

Well they supposedly wanted Kris Dunn & Zach Lavine, so SJ & KCP might not be that far off. However, I can't imagine them being overly thrilled to trade him in division.

Pistons don't have enough depth to make a positive deal for JB.

Heard the Wolves rejected a deal for Rubio and #5.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

We don't have the kind of blue chip asset to deal that the other teams had.

I imagine reggie would have to be part of the deal and that leaves us with a huge hole.
Not sure if we're ready for this kind of move.

I see him more like a trade deadline deal..... if he's healthy the first half of the season and makes the All-Star game, the Bulls could get quite a haul for him.

Butlers price is out of our price range. No need to gut the team just to obtain one player. Then, the Pistons would have no depth and probably lose starters at other positions that would need to be filled. No thanks.

Butler would have signaled full rebuild for them... I think it would have likely cost us at least KCP, Stanley, #18, and a future pick or two.

We're loaded at 2/3.

KCP, SJ, Morris, Harris, Bullock, Meeks, Hilliard, Gbinijie

Even if we traded 3 of those guys for him we'd have plenty of depth still.

If it's possible without dealing Dre/Reggie I'm all over it. Jimmy Butler is a very, very good player.

I'd trade Harris and Marcus for him. I think that would be a fair deal, maybe one more prospect, Ellenson? He's definitely worth the trade since he's an All Star with a body capable of defending Lebron as we've all seen he tried to do. But we'd have a big hole at PF. Maybe then Horford would come to Detroit? So many things can happen!

Id do this deal:

KCP, Tobias, Baynes, Meeks
for
Butler, Lopez, Gibson, Calderon

Bulls save 12M immediately by swapping Baynes/Meeks for Taj/Lopez/Calderon and can use that in free agency

They also get KCP and Tobias two young productive players

Pistons fill out their roster

Reggie / Calderon
Butler / Hilliard
Stanley / Bullock
Mook / Gibson
Drummond / Lopez

Or if you really want to keep it simple

Butler, Calderon for Tobias, KCP, Meeks

We actually save 2M and then can try to convince Horford to sign with us for around 22-23M

Reggie - Butler - Stanley - Horford - Drummond

If Boston offered 3rd, 16th, and crowder no **** way we can get him. I think crowder has crazy potential plus them picks damn.

Side note Rose introduction interview he said something about dawgs and something else. I believe it was a shot at jimmy

3rd & 16th pick in a weak draft though, massive fall off after the first two picks in this draft. Crowder is a solid player. All in all though, zero chance I accept an offer like that if I was the Bulls FO.

Not saying we could realistically get him, but I think Boston's package was very weak if that was it.

KCP, Stanimal, Ellenson, Future 1st. That's probably what it would take.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
