OT (sort of): Dwayne Wade

Wade has had a great career, but he is slowing down. I don't think the Heat should do a Kobe on him and give him a huge contract - it will ruin their cap space. I know there is a lot of ego crap going on, but Wade could easily be going elsewhere.

Which brings me to the Pistons aspect of this - no, I don't want him on our team, unless we can rewind back to the Darko pick. There are a few teams seriously interested (and I think they are all insane). Milwaukee, Chicago, and.... Denver. So if Denver actually signs Wade, they have a ton of extra SGs. Gary Harris might be able to be had on the cheap. Let him fight with Bullock and Hilliard for backup SG minutes. So as I watch Wades drama unfold, I'm secretly wanting Denver to sign him.

Another idea if Wade goes to Denver is trading a future first round pick for Beasley. If the Pistons are high on him like it was reported then they shouldn't have much of a problem making that kind of deal. Maybe put some very light protections on the pick, but if they plan to still be in the playoffs going forward then it's not much of a deterrent. I wouldn't them mind doing something like that for a rookie.

I want him to go to the Bucks. I don't think they have the $ with them giving Moose all that $ last year tho

They don't and would have to trade a player for a pick. They don't have anyone really desirable for us that they would want to trade. Their backup SG sux.

I think he took lesser than fair market value over the years from the Heat with understanding if not outright agreement that they'd make it up to him later. If so, Miami should honor that and pay the man his money (said in Teddy KGB accent/voice), if not then he should go elsewhere for his money if he thinks he's worth more than Miami is offering.

Clearly the market says he's worth more than what Miami is offering because he's gotten offers for more than what Miami is offering.

If he wants to go to Denver to prove a point about his value go for it. Otherwise he's going to have to suck it up and resign in Miami for the 20 million per year they're offering him.

And no, he makes no sense at all for this team, even if we did have enough money to sign him. Don't think he'd have any interest in us either though.

I'm not sure Gary Harris would have to fight for the backup SG minutes. He's a really good player in my opinion.

Yeah, if we were able to obtain Gary Harris somehow, Hilliard and Bullock would be strapped to the bench. Harris is a legitimate starter in the league. We would have a great defensive SG in the game for 48 minutes night in and night out.

I think Miami has screwed Wade out of money that they agreed to give him because they fell into Whiteside

So...Wade needs to decide if it's money or rings he covets.

Could easily join GSW but his BFF would be pissed!

If he doesn't go to Cleveland, SA, Chicago or Milwaukee dude should take the $$$ & run.

Him leaving isn't like Durant leaving OKC - Wade got screwed here.

Pat Riley will claim (in Vince McMahon voice) Wade screwed Wade by taking less money all these years...and that's BS. He took less so his organization could benefit

Gibson would be wonderful for Detroit.

However, Calderon and Dunleavey would not be wonderful for Detroit.

Detroit wouldn't have enough cap space to take on both Calderon and Dunleavey even if they cut Anthony, Brown, and Bairstow while renouncing Blake's rights. Someone else would have to be traded. They might be able to squeak by if it was Bullock, but nobody else higher on the totem poll would be worth moving just to get Portis.

EDIT: Just Bullock wouldn't be enough either. Still need to open up just over $1.1 million.

I agree. If we could give up a 2nd round pick for him it would be a nice pickup. He's got one year left on his deal, which doesn't hurt our long-term flexibility. If SVG wants to add another 4 to the roster, this would be a good option.

On a side-note, what are the Bulls doing? Aside from the draft, their entire offseason has been garbage.

The Miami Heat are attempting to trade away Josh McRoberts to clear more cap space to re-sign Dwyane Wade.

A source says the Heat may not be able to move McRoberts into another team's cap space without including a draft pick or Justise Winslow is included.

Anyone still interested in McBob or did that all go away with Leuer signing? I don't even know how much cap we have left.

Also for Chicago in regards to Calderon they can't trade him with other players until the end of August. The only way they're moving him is with a pick attached or some sorry team just absorbs him into their cap space.

Don't even think about it Van Bower.

I think I drafted a post last night but didn't submit it about McBob. I'm just assuming that SVG has narrowed down his pool of potential players to everyone that was on the roster last year, new acquisitions, and summer league players, and not looking outside anymore.
I think McRoberts would help more than Anthony could, and I think he and Leuer and Ellenson could all learn a thing or two from each other in practice. The sum would be greater than its parts.

I'd take McBob on for a first rounder IF he is expiring. No way they trade Justise just to clear space for Wade - that is silly talk.

From Chicago I'd take Calderon for a first as well.
