http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/rip-hamilton-eyeing-nba-opportunities-training-for-comeback/Hamilton told CBS Sports he had his agent put out feelers to several teams and he is planning on training hard for the next 30 days. If his body holds up during that time period, Hamilton is going to actually attempt a comeback.
"I'm giving myself thirty days where I am really hitting the gym." Hamilton said. "I'm working on my game. I'm in the weight room. I'm running my two, three miles a day. And I'm trying to see if my body can hold up. If my body can hold up after these thirty days, I will be making a comeback."
We brought back everyone else at some point - Time to let Rip heal some wounds here.. haha

Hate the way he left. When times got tough he was a cancer and a wimp. No interest.

Who knows... considering he was known for being the one of, if not the best, conditioned player in the league, if there's anyone who could pull it off it might be Rip.

Good for Rip but I'm not sure he's capable of being a rotation player anymore even in the regular season.

He was a prick when he left.. Dumars also destroyed that team. I was kidding about him joining us, although I bet he could teach Pope a thing or 2.

Haha zero interest in rip. He really screwed himself at the end of his career and not just with us. There's no way he gets a spot.

Really in the dregs of the offseason now, aren't we?
No way. I still don't like Richard Hamilton, and doubt he'd be interested in playing for us.
He was a total cancer for us in those last couple years, and I'll never forget how he tweeted "God is good" when his buyout was finalized, nor that he tweeted congrats to Ben Gordon after we traded him to the Bobcats- who were just coming off the worst season in league history.
He was classless in his closing years and immediately after his departure and really damaged his place in franchise history IMO. He could have a case for being third among the going to work era Pistons after Ben and Chauncey if it weren't for all of that, but as it stands he's easily behind Tay and Sheed for me.

You know how Dan Gilbert probably had to apologize profusely to LeBron in order to get him to come back to Cleveland and believe they could work together again?
Take that, flip it and reverse it. Rip would have to be the most contrite person in history to rebuild the bridges he burnt on his way out.

Well, it looks like we might not have the "corpse of Steve Blake" anymore, so maybe Rip can be our new "corpse."

The sad part is, a 60 yr old Rip Hamilton is still probably the sharp shooter we are missing off the bench and could be had for cheap. Unfortunately, he burned all bridges to Detroit on his way out. His disrespected not only Dumars and his coaches, but his teammates and the fans. I don't want that negative influence on our young impressionable squad. We've worked hard to bring in good character guys. Rip Hamilton is not one of those guys. Thanks, but no thanks.

I'm good with having corpses that aren't capable of playing. For once, I'm confident in a bench that can do something that's actually deep.
No more Joel's or Blake's...it's refreshing.

This guy *should* be beloved by the city of Detroit and Piston fans everywhere. Damn shame that we wouldn't even take a flier on the guy, but he made his bed.

I'm not too bitter about Rip. For me, if you were a pivotal part of an NBA title team, you get a pass. I choose to remember the good times and not the bad with him.
That being said, I have no interest in him joining the team. He hasn't played NBA basketball in 3 years, and his signing would be a distraction. I'd rather that spot go to a developing player, or even Steve Blake as the 3rd PG.

This. Saved a lot of typing for me.
