Pretty cool videos showing him and all the team, including Gores, training and hanging out

my god it's almost like a live stream with how much is in his insta story.

really cool to see though, i guess this is the team's training camp? it looks like the only person missing besides baynes and gbinije who are in rio is tobias harris.

Tobias is there. Baynes & Gbinije are on Olympic duties (GO BOOMERS!!), looks to me like Luer is the main one missing.

Clearly not happening but... would you trade that package for Melo? I would need to think about it. Melo as PF pairing with Dre could be the ultimate matchup nightmare. He could go iso every time without getting double teams because he's effective even with tough shots and you CAN'T let the paint alone because the miss shot is going to be a instant Dre bucket...

Not enough for Melo, but I could dream of what that lineup could do . . .

Most owners from all walks of business life believe in team building experiences. Plus, Gores has like a billion dollars vested. He can do whatever the fyck he wants with his business. They all look like they are having fun with Gores.

Amen!

If any of us owned a team we'd hang around practices and have events where we invite the players...go to every game we could...spend time with the FO...and especially with VanBower

Wrong. Go to games and sit courtside sure - but trying to be buddies with players is lame. It's like management trying to be buddies with the front line workers. You need to know your role and let the players have their space, they're the team. And it could force Gores to make mistakes like giving KCP a max level contract. It's all reasonably new to Gores, so maybe he's still living out his fanboy dream and thinks he's "one of the guys", Cuban was like that at the beginning too. I guess I'd like a happy medium, not Gores, but not the pure aloof, it's 100% business owners either. I think Cuban is in sweet spot now - but he grew into it, maybe Gores will as well.

I seriously doubt if you were the Pistons owner, you would stay far away from the team after investing your life savings into the business. Especially, if you are also a huge fan of the game. It is absolutely nonsense to think otherwise.

You can seriously doubt it all you like. However you're arguing with a strawman as I never said I'd stay far away. I specifically mentioned about sitting courtside for example. I absolutely wouldn't hang out with the players, trying to be buddy ol' pals with them. First of all I'd be 25+ years older than them and would really have little in common, but also I'm their ultimate boss. You're not one of the guys or part of the team, you are the owner. Gores looks like the 40 yr old still going out clubbing at University bars.

People pissed and moaned when it appeared all Gores did was spend his time in Beverly Hills and didn’t care about the team. Now someone is complaining that he's too invested? TF?
