Each coach will draft 8 players to mimic a playoff rotation.

We'll try something different and operate with a time schedule for our draft. When the coaches and draft order are finalized, each pick on the draft list will have a scheduled window of time in which you make your pick (probably one or two hours, depending on the number of participants). You'll know from the beginning of the draft exactly when each of your picks are scheduled to be made. If you can't be there at that appointed hour, perhaps you can IM a list to someone as your pick approaches.

If you miss your window, you don't lose your pick but other coaches can pick as their windows open. You may come in at any time after your window has expired and make your pick, but of course other coaches may have chosen players and they will not be available to you.

The draft order and tournament brackets will be independently randomized.

We will use a modified snake draft as follows.

Round 1: a,b,c,d,e
Round 2: e,d,c,b,a
Round 3: e,d,c,b,a
Round 4: e,d,c,b,a
Round 5: a,b,c,d,e
Round 6: e,d,c,b,a
Round 7: a,b,c,d,e
Round 8: e,d,c,b,a

Games will be judged by a poll, likely running in this forum for 24 hours.

This is the player pool. It is generally players who played a fairly significant time with the Pistons at or near their peak form, as well as players who attended college in the state of Michigan. They generally played/peaked in the 1980's or later. I also made a few exceptions for current Pistons and legacy players to add interest. All players will be at their NBA/ABA peak. The positions are just a guide, you may choose as many or as few of each position as you like.

You guys are blowing away the pick timeline, which is great. No reason we can't keep it moving along though occasionally we'll have to be patient because of work commitments, etc.

We're at a tough point in the draft - I could see taking several players next...

I really like the Hill/Gervin wing pair. 2 of my all-time favorites. I wanted Hill but had to go Magic with 1st pick.

No way can you turn him down. Nobody close, in my opinion.

I was more in less in the same position with the Pistons all time draft.

Really really wanted Hill, but as I had the number 1 pick, I had to go Zeke. Almost took hill this time around, but I'm trying to take a different direction with my team this go around.

Rex straight crushed his back to back picks, really wanted one of them haha

I promise there will be no cancers on this team lol - learned my lesson last time.....

I did consider one other player to complement Gervin, I'll share after he's taken, which shouldn't be long....

There are a handful of players who I wouldn't be at all surprised to see go next. There really isn't much of a formula once you get past Magic, Isiah, Lanier, and Hill as the top tier. Draymond was something of a last minute decision, was very close to taking a couple of others.

Well, we are a full round ahead. I promise I will take an actual piston in this. I couldn't pass up Webber paired with Magic.

You guys aren't gaming the system correctly. If the actual matchups are to be judged by a forum poll, you need to get players the forum is going to love. Ben Wallace is a god around here, and yet he's going to go later than Rodman and Webber...

Anyway, have fun with it. I'm enjoying watching.

I'd rather build the best team possible than try to game the system but I know I'll probably be at a disadvantage in the voting not taking a Piston with either of my first two picks. I really like the fit of Webber with Magic and he is a player who I think is very underrated. There are a lot of great Pistons left that maybe I'll be able to get some fan favorites.

Was looking hard at Sheed, Rex. I was torn, but sometimes these decisions are made for you.

I think depth at other positions is greater than at power forward. So I snatched him up......

Taking this out of the draft, you are a little obsessed with Mr. Wallace. He is an all time great defensive center but everyone taken so far are two way players who I think are better to build around personally. In a 4 team draft like this, I think it is difficult to use a top pick on a player that means you are basically playing 4 on 5 on offense no matter how well he protects the rim. For my team, I definitely think Magic (obviously, you can't debate) and Webber are better than Wallace. Webber is definitely a better fit with Magic in my eyes.

Just FYI, I love Ben Wallace and have targeted him in some of the all time drafts as great value but all players taken so far are great.

I'm not even a Wallace stan, actually.

Your statement about 4 on 5 offensively is completely wrong, by the way. If you don't devote a big defender to Wallace, he'll absolutely wreck you on the offensive glass. He was also a very solid passer for a center, and he was obviously a demon in transition for a big.

While I 100% agree that Webber is a fantastic fit with Magic in that he runs the break well, a Ben/Magic pairing would have more opportunities to run, because Ben was masterful at getting offense started with steals and generally causing havoc. For most his career, Webber was a nonchalant defender that didn't use his amazing hands the way he could have.

The teams are looking pretty tough. The picks have been solid/defensible, IMO. Really I thought my pick of Draymond in the second could be called a reach more than any.

Ya, I have been pleased with my draft. I almost Laimbeer in 2nd round over Webber but glad to have them both. I think no one has made a bad pick where it messes up there team. I think the voting could come down to later picks rounding out the teams.

This is my third game - I really should take "Laimbeer" at some point.

I went back and forth between him and Ben and could choose either depending on the day of the week.

I'm glad you took Ben. I probably need his defense but I love the spacing around Magic that I have with Webber and Laimbeeer
