That's a solid line for us. The Cavs seem a little low.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Good line. I'd probably go with the under if I was to put money on it.

Bulls, Knicks 38.5. You're not impressed either Vegas.

No doubt to our depth this year.

That might be a sliver a bit optimistic but I'll take it.

It might be a little low, but I expect with an improved East + the fact they will likely coast a bit and just focus on being healthy for the playoffs that their win total will be lower than they're actually capable of.

Yeah, we saw how in the regular season, Lebron has coasted ever since he came back to CLE. All they need is a healthy Lebron for the playoffs when they inevitably walk to the Finals anyways, so better to have him basically rest and let Kyrie and Love try and take over, even though they're not good at it without Lebron.

Wow. Easy money right there. Over all day long.

45 wins would be an unmitigated disaster this season, and a few players will end up on the block for sure.

My high end has them 12 wins higher, and my low 4 wins higher.

my personal hope is that casual fans bet the under hard to start off, the O/U drops a couple games and then it becomes a massive value at 43.5 or 42.5.

honestly i think i would put $10 on our 12/1 odds to win the division. the cavs only care about the playoffs so they'll rest their guys early and often. i don't think it's a guarantee obviously, but what 12/1 odd bets are?

You never know, but I would think the Cavs would be striving for HCA in the Finals. They play in a weaker conference. They should be able to win more than GS if they really try for it. Which I would if I were them, because the odds of winning b2b game 7s in GS are slim. I think they need HCA if they want to repeat.

45 seems fair for the Pistons. The East got better so we could be a better team but still win the same number of games. Regular season wins don't matter other than HCA/seeding. Our improvement will be based on playoff success from now on, now that we're a playoff team. If 45 gets us 4th and a 1st rd win, that's a successful season.

The ones that seem most unusual are the Bulls and Jazz, and maybe the Thunder. A team with Wade & Butler and a solid supporting cast is most likely winning more than 38 games in the East. That's seems like an easy money bet. The Jazz will be better, but most likely not going from 9th to 4th in the West in 1 season w/ no major additions. I'd bet the under on that. And the Thunder still have an MVP candidate + a good supporting cast and coach. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Westbrook could lead them to 50+ wins. If Harden could do it with an old Howard and McHale, Russ should be able to with Adams/Oladipo just entering their prime + Donovan.

I think HOU can win more than 41 too. Dantoni w/ a stacked offense can win 50 games easily. The playoffs are a different story, but he knows how to win in the regular season when he has the right players for his system. Which I think he has there.

Who would be? Their starting back court is unreliable outside of 18 feet.

We're predicted to have the 9th best overall win percentage. That's pretty good.

Like many, I'm hopeful for this season, but you really can't complain about this projection.

Both the Bulls and the Knicks rightfully deserve some skepticism. Things could go well, but it's always risky to count too much on oft injured players.

But they're 3 of the toughest to guard off the dribble, and when their shooters up front draw the opposing bigs from the paint, they're going to be a very difficult team to defend. All 3 are excellent passers too.

If they draw Drummond to the 3pt line, with our guards' problems stopping penetration, they'll be a tough matchup for us (and a lot of teams).

I'm going with the over on this one. I got the Pistons winning 50 games this season, plus or minus a few games.

The Vegas over/under is certainly respectable for the Pistons. The Vegas odds have them 4th in the East, and I think that's where they'll end up most likely. Going from an 8th seed to home court advantage is a solid improvement, and a realistic one with this team.

Most of the Vegas projections are reasonable, but some of those over/unders are off to me. I think Raps will have another 50+ win season, and that Charlotte ranking seems way too low. While the Wolves will be better, I just don't see them winning 40+ games yet. I also don't see Philly winning over 27 games, but they should be better than the last few seasons.
