Could this happen?

Post#1 » by ayatooma » Wed Oct 12, 2016 1:54 pm

If the Spurs come out slow and their bench is stinking it up, could the Pistons land a third star? Would the Spurs consider giving up Leonard?

Pistons Trade - Baynes, Morris, Johnson
Spurs Trade - Leonard

We give the Spurs a solid Center familiar with their system, a leader and good plug for losing Leonard, and a potential star in Johnson plus around 3 million in cap for next year...

We get a current stud SF in Leonard to give us star power that is needed to compete any more.

Possible??

There's no way they would. Literally.

They basically gave Leonard the keys to the franchise once Duncan retired. He's their star now, much like how Drummond is our face too. This would be equivalent of us trading Drummond.

Well, let's say the Pistons get to a slow start and the bench is stinking it up. Would you do:
Pistons Trade - Drummond
Spurs Trade - Patty Mills, Kyle Andersson and Pau Gasol
Pistons would a get a leader in Gasol a good plug in for RJ and a potential star in Kyle Andersson.

No? That's what I thought

The original proposed trade is much worse than this, but yeah.

Both trades proposed in this thread are equally nonsensical.

Kawhi is product of Pop. No chance Pop trades him. He's as untouchable as just about any other superstar.

I wouldn't even trade him in fantasy..

its the right idea but a total misconception of the importance Leonard is to that franchise moving forward. We'd literally have to trade all our franchise pieces to even sniff Leonard from SAS.
