This week, the NBA released the results of their annual GM survey, where general managers responded to 48 different questions about the best teams, players, coaches, fans, and offseason moves (and they weren’t allowed to vote for their own team or personnel) and if you check out the results here, you’ll see the Pistons on the list. The highlights:

10% of GMs who responded pick Pistons to finish 3rd in the East and 14.3% pick the team to finish 4th.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope received votes for most likely to have a breakout season and best perimeter defender

GMs voted Henry Ellenson 4th as the biggest steal in the draft for where he was selected (18th overall)

Ish Smith, who will be our starting point guard on opening night while Reggie Jackson recovers from knee tendinitis, received votes as the fastest player with the ball.

And finally, Stan Van Gundy received votes for best in-game adjustments and best defensive schemes.

Isn't Teague a DOWNGRADE from George Hill? That's how I've been looking at it. Team doesn't make a whole lot of sense on paper.

“I don’t know that they think he would be (available),” he said. “They just want to see how hard they could push it. Initially, we got criticized at the size of the contract, so maybe they think we’re going to react to that. He’s just always been a guy who’s had great interest.”

And that interest picked up, even, as news of his knee injury broke.

“He’s a guy with a great, great contract and those guys are all looking. And then people think you’ll panic a little bit when a guy has an injury. He’s a very good player on a good contract and when we signed it there were a whole lot of people criticizing it. It’s people who look at things differently and in the moment and hadn’t adjusted to what’s going on. There’s been interest in him and there’s always interest in good players. There’s interest in Andre (Drummond), obviously, and interest in Reggie. People are always just seeing what you’re thinking and seeing if you’ll move on any of those guys and what it would take. And Reggie’s a guy that drew really, really good interest.”

Anything that made the Pistons think twice?

“No. Not even close,” Van Gundy said. “We haven’t had any interest in any of that.”

SVG is a reporters dream, That guy is so blunt and honest he will tell you things no other front office or coach would.

Actually i was watching Indiana preseason game and they are deep with a lot of good talent. It'll depend on how they play defense but scoring is not going to be a issue

i believe Stuckeys been in the running for 6th man every year since going to Indy. He's instant offense and gets to the line which racks up fouls for PG and teague. Add developing Turner and the other complimentary pieces, Ellis, Jefferson etc. I am going to hate see them on the schedule. Again i question there D, but at this point they have proven more than we have

Increased role for Turner
New starting PF (Thad)
New big minute bench big (Al)

Where we return the same coach and starting 5...once RJ returns
