both teams are coming off disappointing losses...

just quickly perusing the magic's game thread from their opening matchup vs. the heat it seems like the entire team's defense was lackluster and ibaka did not play as well as they expected/hoped.

let's go pistons!

We have to play through Tobias, he's gonna score a lot against his former team. Dre, please, don't get into the foul trouble. Oh, and KCP. Please don't take your blind-like-Kobe shots because you are NOT Kobe. If Vuc won't score 30/20 we should have this game easily.
DETROOOIT BASKETBAALL!!!

I fully expect a bounce back game tonight. We tend to play well against Orlando, and hopefully Wednesday's loss will light a fire under these guys.

Orlando is a weird team. I'm interested in seeing them play with Vogel as coach.

I expect both teams to brick a lot of 3's. Defense to be ho-hum with both coaches screaming on the sidelines.

Both back courts are bad. Both front courts are big- should be interesting match-up. I think Tobias has an opportunity to have a great game.

Best of luck tonight fellas, hoping it's a good one. Wouldn't be surprised if Drummond feasts tonight, it'll be interesting to see how well Biyombo can defend the paint in his first game with us.

We need this W to boost the morale of the board.

A little while back I went and analyzed the first 14 games that Reggie will potentially (most likely) miss and I had this down as a W, Toronto as an L in their home opener.
One of my observations from the first game...
Dre REALLY needs to work hard on keeping his hands above his chest when he's defending in the paint. I've been saying this about him for years. Sure steals are nice and basically the same thing as a blocked shot, but he's getting caught with these stupid reach in fouls at least once every game, sometimes 2 or 3 of them. He can't be picking up fouls like a guard when he's 6'11" and 280+ of solid steel.
I didn't chart the time and points when he picked up his second foul in Toronto, but I know the Raptors immediately went on a run, closed the gap, and passed by us. I know it was at least an 11-2 or 13-4 run initially.

He needs to learn from the Marc Gasols or the Hibberts of the world, using their wingspans and verticality to contest shots instead of going for blocks.
