He's in the dog house. The team could really use him tonight with Bullock being out, so whatever he did to get the suspension must have been substantial.

He's having a disastrous second season. I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded sometime this season. I want him to do well but there's no denying something is off.

Something is up... I'd guess partying too hard.

We don't know what happened but the league isn't involved as the "team" suspended him so it was something like partying too hard or being an absolute dick about being on time/at practice/.

Either way, something's wrong with him, now go get Omri Casspi

Sorry, you called the partying too hard first. Didn't see your post.

Definitely something close to this happened tho.

Let's not assume it's something monumental.

It could be anything.

SVG, like every coach, has rules and if you violate those rules then you get suspended.

You enforce them at all times, especially when it's not convenient cause you have to maintain that standard.

SJ did something, will cop the punishment and hopefully move forward with a positive attitude

If not then trading him becomes likely

No problem. Just tossing around opinions like everyone else.

Guessing we'll see some Hilliard tonight, which honestly might not be a bad thing.
Between the Bullock knee injury and now this the SG spot just opened up in a big way for Darrun.

If we trade Stanley who do you think we should take with the 2nd rounder in 2021 we'll get for him?

How badly do you have to mess up to get suspended tonight? We're already stretched insanely thin at the backup SG spot and an actual SF spot. SVG wouldn't have done this without really wanting to show him the consequences of his actions if we come away with a big loss.

Um no. Just NO!

It doesn't matter how thin you are or who you're about to play.

You punish dudes regardless because they violated team rules.

Wonder what he did. Can't be fun around thanksgiving when your mom passed a year ago.

It must've been hell of a violation then. Usually teams let go of things if there are disagreements between team members or staff. Josh Smith was yelling and throwing trash cans in the lockerroom with disagreement with Cheeks and he never got suspended.

Read what you wrote fam. Maurice Cheeks is not SVG.

Lol, I'll concede don't worry. I wrote that pretty knee-jerk wise.

But I wonder what he did though.

he could've been suspended for anything, being late to a practice/meeting, talking back to the coach, just in general being a tool, etc.

you rarely hear about teams suspending their own players, stanley's got some growing up to do. still gotta learn the difference between being a basketball player and a professional basketball player.

Damn. This upsets me. Being suspended by SVG. Seems like it could be bad. I still have high hopes for the kid

Something is really off with Johnson this whole season, and I'm worried he's turning into a bust. Maybe not a bust overall, but at least for the Pistons. And I was a big fan of drafting him.

His minutes have seriously regressed, as well as his performance. He's a net negative when he's on the court. There's been a few instances already this season where SVG made passive remarks about his professionalism and desire to improve. This suspension is another example that things are off.

Nobody has a bigger interest in seeing him succeed than SVG. I don't think any Pistons fan can reasonably argue that this is just normal growing pains. I really hope he learns from the start of this season and turns it around. He's young enough to bounce out of this, but he's in a good system with young, talented players. He shouldn't be taking a step back. Why he's struggling is the million dollar question, but no denying he's struggling immensely.
