Your boy KCP was 0-6 from 3 tonight after you called us "not real Pistons fans" for not licking his balls...

You're a quite calm matture and never overreacting guy... Maybe a pill during games could help you?

This team sucks.. If you're happy with this team, then we're different people.

Your OP is hilarious!

And yes for the most part I'm very thankful for the posts people have made this season.

You gotta remember that we don't all see the team/organization through the same lense.

That's a very good thing dude

This team is average but non consistent. Can play high level basketball but even awful basketball.

Period.

Below average posters are par for the course around here these days. However, it's not going to change. I have nothing against criticism of the team. I'm not happy they lose and there are things I'd like to see change. But when you cannot contribute quality discussion of the team or players and only produce rants and try to incite other posters (see second post of this thread), you drive out the others who do actually have contributive discussions. But because these fans have driven out the good fans and deter new good fans from joining, the board lacks traffic and so the mods won't do their jobs and hold posters accountable because we don't have the traffic on this forum that we used to. So more accounts pop up from these same few posters and it floods the board of drivel.

OP, if you have problems with posters being critical, you should probably avoid forums. Maybe stick to circle jerk places like Detroit Bad Boys.

Being critical of a team does not make anyone a bad fan. This team has a lot of holes, and management has made missteps. Not Joe Dumars level of ineptitude, but there have been missteps.

Now, I wouldn't consider last nights game a big deal. That was a scheduled loss if I ever saw one.

To answer the OP, depends on who's posting. I agree that it's unwise to take sports boards too seriously. The best way to approach it is to take the histrionic posts as entertainment. Everyone has a right to their opinion, whether positive or negative, and I don't think most object provided it doesn't rise to vendetta. When someone feels compelled to essentially post "This team sucks" repeatedly in a game thread it's hard not to feel that it isn't contributing to meaningful discussion. I'm sure most don't want the forum to become a "circle jerk place." I don't think we've actually lost a lot of posters. I think quite a few are letting the more volatile types vent and choosing to remain silent. We're all likely to think this has been a disappointing start to a much anticipated season. :D

I think there is a pretty good balance around here. People tend to be more negative during losses/bad stretches and more positive during win streaks. Pretty normal if you ask me. I especially enjoy posts that look at trends/big picture vs the ups and downs of a given game.

More positive during wins?...its a damn ghost town in threads when we win...but should we lose this place is hopping...its a joke really..

Back to OP's main topic I'm finding myself turned off from this place more and more lately due to a lot of folks lack of perspective with this team and what they're missing currently..

Good poster here, and I could mention a few who are clearly tired of these overreacted kids. Yeah democracy is good and everyone has his right to express his opinion, but not every opinion got the same value or quality.

I mean, I can talk about physics but maybe Stephen Hawkins opinion is a little more valuable than my own.

Your back handed insults I find funny. Some of us aren't built with thin skin. Some of us are.. Just the way it is. You calling people names is no better than some of us being vocally upset with this team. I'm not the one publicly calling you out either. Your baiting posts don't carry any weight with me.

If you need this much attention, this is the wrong forum for you.

If you don't like what people post, refrain from reading or maybe this is the wrong forum for you.

I think it's important not to block the opinions of people who disagree with you.

Sorry if I've offended any of you... Guess I suck. My apologies.
