Game 20: Pistons (9-10) @ Celtics (10-7) - 7:30 PM EST

Another day, another game. After a great game at Charlotte we are facing Boston Celtics for the second time this season. Last time we had a good game, unfortunately lost due to Horford game winning putback. Going for the .500 record just before RJ comes back would be amazing. Ohh.. and Dre is well rested too lol. DEEETROOIT BASKETBAALL!

Back to back against the Celtics will be very rough. I think Horford may be out. Pistons have a small chance here.

Celtics are quality.
Thomas & Bradley have been killing it & Crowder is running into some form.
Watch for KO and Smart to cause us problems as they're smarter than the average bear

Drummond owes us a great performance.

For 130 million, he owes us that every night.
Zero excuses.

Celtics are a system team who owes so much to Stevens. Ainge is practicing a dangerous immobilism and this Celtics team got a low low ceiling. They're just (very good) role players but if they don't trade now for a star, they're going nowhere. Anyway, Isaiah is a beast.

They land another top 5 pick this year which is likely, could get them one. All of Fultz, Jackson, DSJ, Ball look pretty damn good.

Brooklyn has competed nearly every game, and they don't have a pick this year. When teams will be tanking and losing games, they will be winning and playing better bball than now. I have serious concerns about that pick being Top-5.

Yeah Ainge really didn't take advantage of all those assets. Still don't have a star prospect or big trade with time running out.

Ainge has done a good job NOT rushing things
They're top 4 in the East without the Brooklyn picks - why try to hit a home run when a single will do?
Horford
Pick
Crowder
Bradley
Thomas
And a collection of role players is glorious considering Crowder pkays small ball 4 & they've got KO, Amir & Whatshisname as dudes that can man the 4/5 too
Throw in Smart & the last Lotto pick (JDs affecting my memory) too and they're as loaded as they need to be right now
I know people expect a title or some **** but making the playoffs every year ain't bad either

If making the playoffs every year is the end goal then yeah they're loaded and in perfect position. But we were sold a bill of goods that Boston would inevitably be back into contention soon due to all these draft picks. Like it was said, if Brooklyn is playing hard and gets to 28-30 wins, that pick is not as appealing and the opportunity to acquire a franchise changing talent with that pick lessens.

his wife had a kid a couple days ago but he practiced with the team yesterday so i'd assume he'll play tonight. he had a great game against us last time so it would've been a good advantage for us if he didn't play lol.

This is another B2B loss for us... It's an incredibly important game if we want to end up higher than Boston at the end of the year considering we lost to them once already, but I am just not seeing a win from us here after seeing how we've done on B2B with travel over the last two seasons.

Boston, Nets, Pacers are all trap games this year.
There's something that just doesn't work right when we face these guys.

It's called Reggie Jackson. We're the second best team in the East with Reggie, mark my words.

I still want to see the whole team together but i am inclined to agree with this.
The bench ia so dramatically better then last year its kind of absurd. Leuer is such a huge upgrade over Tolliver and even though i knew that when they signed him it makes me want to punch the faces of those who knocked this signing.
Ish/beno
Hilliard
Hilliard/johnson
Leuer
Baynes/monster
Thats a damn fine bench. Really disappointed in johnson this year, but hes super young, and its only his second year so ill wait until year 4 to make any firm judgements.
Ill say this though;
If there is a possibility of a roster upgrade in a package that includes him, baynes, and another piece, ill do it in a heartbeat as i would rather try and get something for baynes instead of losing him for nothing.
What that trade would be is not something ive thought of, but just throwing it out there. Johnson has shown very solid flashes but his youth is getting in the way of his development.
Is anyone else as impressed with Hilliard or is it just me? Might have struck gold in the second round again.
As for this game? Im not a staunch "Pistons get executed" feeling right now, and having a fresh Andre is huge, but if the Pistons win its gonna be a squeeker.

Very impressed with Hilliard. He's more of a one way player but he brings a lot on offense with his shooting, finishing through contact at the rim and his court vision has been nice. I noticed last night SVG pulled out our PGs and let Hilliard run point for a minute, could be something we see more in the future to see how he handles more combo guard responsibilities.

Lately, I feel even less sure what to expect. They appear to have improving chemistry. They also seem a lot like last year's team in alternating really good and bad. PGs seem to be getting used to their teammates. Reggie back soon.
