The Pistons will be OVER 500...

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Thu Jan 19, 2017 6:47 am

Ok, some of us think the season is over, some are more optimistic. I think everyone thought we would be OVER 500 right now. Obviously, we've had some bumps. So, when do we get above 500?

I'm not doing maths. Or looking at a schedule. Basically I'm putting zero effort into this. So i went with by the end of the season.

I'm the optimist who said 10 games. The next 9 games look to have 6 really winnable games and zero "no chance-ers." If we can get on a little run and take care of business in those 6 good matchups, we only need to steal one of the tougher ones to crest .500. Like I said, I'm being an optimist — partly fueled by tonight's game, partly fueled by drinking during tonight's game — but to heck with it!

10 games but honestly this team is so bi polar, there is really no reason that Dre and RJ can't play this way every night other than maturity or effort. I think we get barely over .500 by the end of the year and still make the playoffs

Voted in four games because I trust Stan's Process.

I love that kind of optimism. It always happens to us when we won 2 in a row. But, yeah. We can still definitely turn things around and make a run for PO. I believe that minimum for this season will be about 40 wins.

I voted Feb. 26th, not because I feel certain it's right, but as long as I'm making a WAG might as well go for the dramatic. Of course, I'm hoping for better. This team has been maddening, but the standings don't say they're out of the playoffs. There are positive signs. SJ is looking like he might be getting his head screwed on straight. His Team Ball approach of late has been exemplary. Even the villain RJ seems to be catching on to some degree. Drummond acting like he understands what he is to the team? (Of course, there's always the FT thing.) :D

I suppose the best answer is when they can stay healthy enough to catch a rhythm. IMO, health and its related issues have played a big role in the team's struggles. If they can get reasonably healthy I believe they can make a run.

I definitely went with Feb 26 and came up with that looking at our schedule. It is easier, we are playing at home. This would be a great thing and pull a lot of posters off the cliff :-) Once we get over 500, then it is all about going for #6 seed.

Yeah, an old adage in sports; "it's not how you start but how you finish." That didn't apply to the Hawks game, but to a season it makes sense. I still find this an interesting Pistons team. It seems to me like the young guys are progressing. Fans want to see the team have success, and suffer when they don't show well. ;-)

answer is who cares.

We are last in Personal Fouls Drawn in NBA. And we have Drummond who is always hacked.

I think we finish 42-40.

I think historically after 22 games teams are what they are. We were 11-10 without Reggie so i think with an easier schedule ahead of us I think we can go 22-16 finish the season.

I have often wondered about this as well. In the last game Milsap wears a path to the line with his 'James Harden' moves, and while the Pistons were clearly aggressive from the start the Hawks still shoot 9 more free throws?

we are pull up jump shot team. dribble dribble and shoot. that's why we have low assits and free throw numbers.
